Lagavulin Distillers Double Matured

Hey scotch fans:

if you want the single best Islay single malt out there, grab a bottle of Lagavulin Distillers Edition, Double Matured. Phenomenal bottle, and it’s just insane in drinkability and flavor. What other islay, petey recommendations do you have?

Caol Ila. I have had a couple of bottles over the last year or so and it's been really good. And not too expensive as well

Great choice. Good single malt, and like you said, not too expensive. The distillers edition ain't cheap, but it's worth it as a treat. The lagavulin 8 year is great, too.

Do! It's hard to put down, but expensive enough to keep me from drinking too much at a time... Ha!

Can anyone explain what the point is in having whiskey smell like smoked ham?
Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed drinking it all the same just have a hard time understanding the flavor direction there.
