KW/V6 47mm dome crystal distortion – opinions needed.

I just got QCs for a KW/V6 PAM617. The pics on the puretime site looks like it's the same crystal as the KW127 which has low distortion but the QCs I got don't look so good to me. Can those familiar with the good KW dome crystal please check out this crystal and let me know if I'm right or wrong when I think this isn't the good KW/V6 crystal? I've also attached a puretime image at the bottom which looks much better to me. Thoughts? @ALE7575 @mysterio @kilowattore Cheers!

Looks like a lot more distortion than my KW127. The crystal shape (in the side view) looks accurate though.

Thanks guys. Yeah, this is really disappointing. Especially since I have also ordered an SF 629 and a spare KW crystal to drop into it. Now I think I don't want any of them if this is as good as I can get. Hopefully the TD can come back with something better for both the 617 and spare crystal. Otherwise I see an 024 and 087 in my future.

Yeah, I reckon the 127 was selling like hot cakes and they were short on crystals. Hopefully there's a happy ending here. On the upside, the DLC doesn't look too black.

I too think it looks better. It's hard to judge though because in my experience a slight different angle of the shot makes a big difference on how the crystal looks.

What I mean is I have seen even better crystals in PICS but I'm not sure how they look IRL. Tbh I'd go for this.

You don't think the lines through the 12 are a problem? Maybe I'll just run with it.

The lines on the "2" on the pictures are a result of the crystal but like what kilo said, depending on the angle, the crystal may look different IRL compared to pictures as it only captures one view out of many. I'd run with it personally.

Thanks fellas. FYI, anyone interested in the PAM629, the SF no longer comes with plexi. It's only available with dome sapphire now. The catch is, and there's always a catch, it has blue AR. So I'm (hopefully) fitting a KW crystal in it.

I'm having exactly the same problem at the moment with this.
I ordered a PAM 617 too and I've just rejected the 2nd one as the crystal on both looks like the one in your first set of QC photos.

Theyll just say say they're all like that but your second set of QC photos were better.
