Although I loved my KW 382, I received one from the earlier batch with the green pearl. And you know how it goes, once something starts bothering you on your watch, it's all you look at! So with ZERO re-luming experience I figured why not give it a shot. Here's my comparison of two lume kits for others in the same situation.
Although I don't have any before shots, the pearl was obviously green and looked the same as others have received like member momo_sweden.
I decided to buy two relume kits to compare. The first was the AF Swiss (C1) lume kit in white from esslinger.com
http://www.esslinger.com/luminovas-fluorescent-compound-kit-with-white-glow-in-dark-paint.aspx
The second kit was from NoctiLumina, the "white color body with green glow"
http://www.noctilumina.com/index.php
AF on top, NoctiLumina on bottom. AF was more pure white, while NoctiLumina was slightly greenish.
AF on top, NoctiLumina on bottom. NoctiLumina was slightly brighter than the AF.
So although it wasn't the brightest, my goal was to get a white pearl so I went with the AF. I removed the old pearl by carefully scraping it with a small blade until it crumbled and came out cleanly. I won't go into the re-luming process as there are plenty of YouTube videos by the experts, however, I do recommend reluming the pearl in two stages because as it dries it shrinks slightly.
End result:
So not perfect but not bad for a first try and it was lots of fun doing it!
