Hmmmmmm....I doubt they bought a gen 518 to Mame this watch, not at $50,000.00 plus for a watch that isn't going to be a best seller. That said, it is much better than the other 518 out there from another maker. I also have confidence in KW's build and finish--which is more important to me than a few trivial details. Still, this watch is loaded with flaws. The movement is obviously not close to gen, but if they ditched the blue screws and upgraded the engraving and used the correct gold color, it would look much better. This is kind of like my old Datograph rep. Great looking piece that is well finished, but flawed.

I guess I just don't think I could wear a rep of a $50,000+ watch comfortably unless it was much closer to a super rep. Even then, I am not sure I would be comfortable.

This is a completely different watch and dial, hands, Crownand tube, pushers and caseback inscriptions seem much more accurate than PT version
We will wait for more info and QCpics
Obviously movement cannot be accurate but the rest is seemingly very good

I agree...much better effort than the other maker. I haven't/can't perform one of Ale's famous superimposed comparisons, but this watch is pretty decent based on the dealer photos. Again, kW fit and finish mean a lot. The little details aren't going to be big tells (aside from the movement) because you have a better chance of getting struck by lightening than seeing one of these bad boys in the wild. The AD's can't even get them, except for the boutiques. Even the NY boutique only received one in platinum...no rose gold at least as of this past July.

Ale - take a look at this post mysterio made in a different thread. I think the movement has tremendous potential if they put in the time and effort. All of the key ingredients are there:

Agreed, just some better decoration/engravings and a little reshaping of bridges and we would reach more or less the same level of accuracy as current P.9000 a7750 based.

Thanks
Yes I saw this post by mysterio and I agree that some "work" could get more accuracy . Maybe next version and... maybe... 100$ more

If they release a new version and add 100 bucks for each flaw they fix, by the time we have a good rep of this it's going to cost like the gen!

Yeah, still a very flawed watch. Why do I still want one [emoji2]

Because it is a cool watch and you could wear it for a hundred years and you would never meet a single person that would know it is a rep, unless it is another rep lover.

The other maker's 518 just looked cumbersome, the short minute hand (thick section) and the too long pushers are bad. The pushers are bad enough you just recognize they are wrong, even if you had never seen a picture of a 518/520.

Another flaw of these watches (PAM 518 and PAM 520) is the material
Gen PAM 518 is made of Platinum
Gen PAM 520 is made of White gold
Besides the obvious inaccuracy of material and WEIGHT (!!!) there is a problem of credibility because these watches are really expensive
