Keyless Works Repair

Can anyone link to a tutorial on how to repair the keyless works on a 6497? I'm so bummed, it seems I messed up the keyless works on my new 390.

How did you mess it up, if you don't mind me asking? Is there any 'easy' way to wreck these movements with some good intentions but lack of knowledge?

You should really try screw/pushing the stem release too far. Also good advice to do this while the crown is in wrong position. Generally, also be sure to apply a lot of force
