Would not surprise me, a lot of these TD's are accustomed that most of these reps come with Ronda's... knee-jerk reaction.

Yep, sounds like a certain TD was selling K11 tanks described as having a "Swiss Ronda movement" that actually housed a miyota. Both variants do exist though.
Can confirm - just got two K11 tank musts (large regular white version and a blue) and they have Miyota 5r21 underneath a fake plate as in the link above.
I bought from jTime, so I don't think it's a single dealer but a factory change. Bit disappointed as I'd prefer a jewelled movement, but not exactly unusual for movement shenanigans from factories...

Not sure if this is something to raise with TDs or just the usual “1:1 best version” type marketing passed through from factories…

Agree - thought the same thing about it being like 904 vs 316, and the old Swiss vs Asian ETA question. I’ll let Li at jTime know, but expect they see a lot of this and don’t look too hard.

Major and Hont inquired with K11 and apparently K11 now has a Ronda tank. They took it apart to confirm.
Interesting, got a pic of the fake plate that was on top? One of mine looks different (and feels different when setting the time) so might be Ronda instead of Miyota. I’ll check when I get the chance but might not be for a few days…

Major may have one. Let us know what you find. It's possible K11 updated the movement when they updated the solo recently.
That's a pity, I would have preferred the jeweled Ronda quartz movement as well (I have very good experiences with Ronda movements).
not very familiar with quartz movements or Cartier so sorry if this is a silly question; is this reason enough not to go with the K11? I've been looking for an AF, but those seem hard to come by at the moment.

TBH, Im more concerned with the dial and case finishing than the movement. Any feedback on the k11?
