I had placed an order with a trusted seller for a JVS 116610LV Huk. After approving quyality control pics and waiting for shippment to arrive, I was fortunate enough to buy a VSF Hulk on the M2M sale forums.
As an owner of the VSF 116610LV Hulk and also the Clean 116613LB Bluesy, I received the JVS 116610LV and I was very impressed with JVS, and I can see why it is being passed off as a VSF. JVS is an excellent rep. In my opinion, it's on par with VSF and it's possible that it may be an offshoot of VSF, because they're that close, minus the VS3135 / VR3135 movement differential. Some aspects of JVS may even be better, depending solely on the buyers preferances.
Please note that the review and photos are based with the stickers still in place.
Overall Feel
Compared to VSF, it feels exactly the same. Very good heft and quite solid. Balances well on the wrist and has presense. You definately know it's on your wrist.
Case design / CGs/ Crown
Case looks excellent. CGs look spot on with a good uptick angle (much better than Clean/s CGs). Crown is shapped nicely and positions are as expected from the VR movement.
Crystal / Cyclops / Date Wheel
Crystal is excellent. Very clear and sits perfect in height. Cyclops has strong black whole effect with very minimal side angle distortion. AR coating not as strong as it should be, but still quite anti-reflective. Date Wheel is very sharp. All numbers are centered perfectly.
Dial / Insert / Hands / Markers
Dial seems to be very accurate and follows the darker Hulk Mk3 color. Text is very sharp and precise. Coronet above Rolex looks excellent. No "floating m."
Bracelet:
JVS V1 uses the premium ARF "1LD" bracelet.
JVS also offers a V2 which uses a lower quality "7JG" bracelet for $60 less.
JVS V1 = $488
JVS V2 = $428
My suggestion is to go for the V1 because ARF is known for making fantastic bracelets.
Loom
Loom fills are perfect with incredible brightness when charged. Looms look very even from all angles and the glow is bright even in ambient day light settings. No overspills on any of the text or looms. Very gen like.
Bezel
Bezel clicking is similar to gen in terms of feel, sound, smoothness, with no back play.
Sunburst
Beautiful yet faint sunburst effect.
Comparing the 11 series subs from VSF, JVS, and Clean: I would say that VSF is still top dog for sharper case and VS movement, but JVS being a close 2nd. Both are much better than Clean's 11 series. Clean and JVS rehaut are much better than VSF, which has always been VSF's Achilles' heel.
JVS / VSF
All in all, the JVS 116610LV is a beautiful rep that shouldn't be overlooked. This would more than likely also apply to the JVS116610LN. As I said before, I would recommend the V1 editions with the premium ARF 1LD bracelelts for $60 more, over the V2 editions with the 7JG bracelets. $488 / $428
