Last week I took delivery of this super nice dark grey ceramic GF Bathyscaphe from Andrew at Trustytime. Delivery was quick and painless, as usual, and the watch is beautiful.

This is a very lovely watch and wears very well. I see no real flaws in quality, but have not done any in-depth comparison in regards to rep vs gen... Maybe others can chime in on that aspect.

The finish is outstanding all around and the crown screws down better than any watch I own, rep or gen. The bezel is aligned perfectly and the bezel clicks are tactile, and not too weak. The dial is beautiful, print is excellent and slightly raised/glossy and all indices are aligned as they should be.

The movement through the see-through caseback is very well adorned and looks very well finished, although I would think there's probably a lot different than the gen.

I originally ordered the ZF Blue ceramic, but it was seeming to be impossible to get one with a decent crown, so I 'succumbed' to this... I have enough black watches already, and I'm still in the air whether this is a keeper (for me) yet because I think this would be even more stunning in a lighter colored case. Aside from that, it is a beautiful watch of extremely high quality.

Anyway, enough blabbering, if you have any questions or want more views, just let me know :)

I have the blue Bathyscaphe, I’ve thought about this one but I’m waiting to see what the titanium model looks like before I get a black one. It feels like a great size for me. Congratulations!

Noise from the rotor sounds nice and mechanical, not like there are rocks in there ;-)

Cheers!

Like I wrote, I initially wanted the blue/grey but I couldn't take delivery, so I got this.

It's growing on me :)

I know how you feel about black watches but this one looks like a keeper.

Can you post some macros of the movement please?

I got mine today and I have to say this is a very very nice replica.

I have tried the genuine article on and I would say it is very hard to tell the difference. The bezel is maybe a touch off but not as much as people might think. The bezel was designed to be stealthy and it can be clearly visible from different angles and completely invisible from other angles.

I seem to remember the genuine article was similar.

Quality wise the watch is top-notch and it looks totally awesome and is less in your face than the classic fifty fathoms

I have bought way too many replicas and have been fed up with the quality of AP and PP replicas the vast vast majority of which are complete crap and a waste of money.

These are different this particular model is fantastic.

Only downside is that it has the classic noisy rotor which is a huge tell against the genuine if someone calls you out. I'm not sure how you would go about removing the back either so you can lubricate the rotor. Anyhow it's keeping great time at the moment and is a beautiful watch well worth spending the money on.

I give it a solid 10 out of 10 it really is something to behold!!

When you move the crown to adjust the time, what direction does is move?

For example, a2836 if you turn the crown counterclockwise wise it moves clockwise.

For the blue ceramic ZF Bathyscaphe, if you turn the crown clockwise...it moves clockwise..

When I move the crown 'forward' or clockwise from looking at the crown, the hands advance forward in time!

Actually, I never noticed the noisy rotor, but now I do after trying it out! LOL

Mine is noisy to the point that I believe it is loose.

I will bring it to my watchmaker for a full service and report! I think this watch will be worth it.
