Those little screws that hold in the strap bars in make me nervous....one already came loose and those microscopic screws are a pain to work with (with my big mitts anway).

Question 1. Can you put a little Loctite in there to make sure they won't go anywhere in the future? And would you be able to get them to turn again, after applying the Loctite, if you wanted to change the strap?

Question 2. The strap that came with this is going to have to be replaced due to the size of my wrist. This is 26mm, correct?

Thanks in advance guys...

1.: yes, I think you should use the green loctite, which is a threadlocker and the "weakest" of all. You1ll be able to use the screws later, no problem.

2.: 26 but rather 27mm should be. Original RAD straps taper like 27/22mm, those look freaking good if going classy.
If you'd prefer a more vintage look, then I'd go with 26/26mm.

A heartfelt thanks to you from the other side of the planet! :)

This place never ceases to amaze me...the wealth of knowledge is astounding.

Thank you sir!

BTW...the Loctite goes on the threads themselves? Or can you just put a drop in the hole with the screw in place?

Can you link me to who/where you ordered your 288k from? I'm in the market.

I've got a question which is about very close to the issue discussed in this thread....Here it goes....

Any idea if the gen croc strap with deployant (upgrade option with 288k) with most TD's- will it fit a 7.5 inch wrist?

If loctite is used to lock the screws, how can they be unscrewed without any damage to either the screws or to the lugs?

Lastly, which loctite is best used so you don't have to fight to unscrew when you have to change a strap...I've read 243 is good and so is the lighter 221......Which one would be ideal?

Thanks

A tip for those using locktite. Heat will loosen locktited screws. I use a 15w pen style electric soldering pen. Dry obviously hehe. The kind used for working on PCBs.

In the case of rad lugwire screws you would need to touch only the screw head to loosen and not the surround (or the heat would dissipate too much).

:)

Pams are well-known for those screws stripping threads - primarily in the case. I've had four Pams and ALL of them CAME with one of the two stripped already. Rather than worrying about screws loosening/stripping, consider replacing them with custom spring bars:

This is the 26mm version; they are available from Panatime for other sizes as well.

I think OP is talking about the Radiomir screws.

But I do agree with you on them stripping on the regular Marina cases.

You are certainly correct; my apologies for not being thorough. I should have paid more attention to detail!
