EDIT:
The picture I posted of my Fiddy is NOT on a Tootall strap as I had stated. I had a senior moment (which seems to be happening more frequently) and posted the wrong watch.
This is not a Fiddy, but is an 082 which IS on a Tootall strap. Again, the man does great work:

The easy way to fix this is to contact Savage or Tootall and be done with it. Look through their sections here on RWI and see what they have been turning out.

Hang on to the strap. I hated mine too. I ordered a Gunny strap to replace it and while waiting for my Gunny strap to arrive. I actually bleached the "original" strap that comes with the 1950. Trust me, the effect is quite good.

Please read the post "How-to make a strap >> VINTAGE [Tutorial by Tanfoglio]" for the details. Give it a shot, all it will cost you is 15 minutes and some bleach

Heres my orig replica strap after bleaching and sanding it.. still looks like a wet bandaid.. BUT better than stock form.
I also did a similar tutorial on how to mod your leather strap to vintage style...

Here is another custom Gunny strap on my Pam196. Peter did this one special for me and added the extra stitching that i like so much He'll make it however you want it. hes really easy to deal with. Ive since oiled the 196 strap to make it darker.. looks really good now becuase the 196 is more dressy looking than the fiddy i think
