just got banned on rg for posting a link to rwi

I'm not complaining, just asking your opinion if it is a fair punishment for my action. I have seen lots of links to RG here, so thought it's ok to do the viceversa.

The full story :

I've posted the link to my sales thread here in my thread on RG as i didn't have the RG tagged picture. I got that post removed instantly and did not understand that it was removed by mods. My first thought was that maybe i've missed the "submit post" button, so i have posted it again, only after that i have posted for the second time, the browser reloaded and i got the pm from admins telling me it is not ok to post links, even to rwi. I guess this pm was sent after my first posting was removed and so they considered my second posting as a deliberate infringement. So I got banned forever. Very nice and friendly approach.

Related to that, I got a nasty pm from Brobert himself when after not posting for 9 months, he saw I posted 16 times in one day. He was not cordial at all. I called him out on it, and ended with "thanks for the cold reception". He never banned me though.

You know, I almost wish I could be on staff at RG for just a little while to know what they discuss around there. Trailboss would give any of us a swift kick up the backside if we banned someone for something as trivial as posting a link to another forum (unless it was posting a link to RWI on a gen forum, in which case *you* get the swift kick up the backside ), and you'd certainly get a written warning that you'd done a no-no before getting yourself banned.

One might THINK that all of the rep forums are all the same, but they're so not.

BTW, if it makes you feel any better, I tried to open an account on RG, and they kept refusing to acknowledge it, so I finally gave up.

From awhile now I've viewed RWG, RG, et al. as sources of information ONLY. In fact, I don't even post there. Also, my time is valuable (especially when I'm squandering it) and transitioning to those different "environments" is kind of a pain in the ass.

RWI: There is no better forum and there is no finer (or varied) collection of personalities than here. Amazing when you consider we really don't know each other beyond the confines of the internet and just about EVERYONE here feels the same way.

I posted a link to the purchase thread for the 2012 RWI calendar at the bottom of my Abyss review that I re posted over there. I promptly got a PM that the link was removed.

They weren't mean or anything, but curt none the less. RG has it's place.

BTW, I really like Wrist Check for my Vintage fix but love RWI.
