I get the whole v2/v3 though I'm not insanely informed on "best" edition. I have read quite a bit on noob being amazing replicas and if you are willing I'm open minded to other Panerai models you think I'd like!

Dealers usually don't correct or update catalogues, you can read "best ultimate" in many reps three four years old and completely surpassed for new versions. You initial choice is one of them.

Anyway, it is no easy, and maybe no timely, to buy nowadays a Luminor 44mm, for some reasons

-All Luminor 44mm are casesets in a transition period:
Noob is finishing V3 cases and parts and changing to V4, a much better caseset. Unfortunately Noob is just applying this case only in PAM 390 and few more models, and it is still mixing new and old parts.
H maker is making the new 2105 caseset but the quality is a bit inconsistent and maker is mixing new and old parts. The new case is very well made, the edges are very nice but sharper, the bezel has sharp edge and maybe the base is higher. H maker is making some improvements but they are not yet completely introduced. Sandwich dial is a bit less deep than Noob and gen.
KW-V6Fac is also introducing a new case but has not yet corrected the lug holes position and we have not yet enough info

My advice wait for the full introduction of Noob V4.
Don't ask me for the date. I don't know at all
