Just finished building a sterile GMT/063 with blue lume and thought I'd share a couple of pics.

Sweet!...i forget, does this movement support a "jumping" GMT hand when setting? how does the lume compare in brightness with C3?

Where did you get the blue arm?

I think this watch looks great. Simple and elegant. I am itching to do a sterile Pam but I might prefer a manual wind model with a sterile Swiss 6497. The whole idea of building a watch from parts seems like a lot of fun. The blue lume on this watch is a very nice choice.

Rocketeer: that's simply gorgeous! One of the things I like about Panerai is their relative simplicity--though the GMT ain't exactly simply looking. Making it sterile brings it back under control. As for the blue lume..... Beautiful! Great job!!

This one has a 2836-2 modified with 2893-2 parts to do the GMT conversion, so yes the 24hr hand setting is in 1hr jumps on the reverse of the date setting of the keyless works.

Blue lume isn't as bright as C3 but much better than C1. I help it out by putting a base layer of lume with a much larger particle size (60-100 micron) that glows like a torch but is harder to work and looks rough. Then I put a second coat of normal (<5 micron) lume on top.

The hands are brass so they don't flame blue very well, so these are chemical blued.

Wow great job. Where did you get a sterile dial? Or did you remove the wording yourself? How did you do it?

Love it. Thanks. :D

It's simple if you have the set-up to make dials :)
