Hi Guys,

I have just purchased my first rep having read quite a lot of what is in these wonderful forums. CARRERA CALIBRE 1887 PVD V6F 1:1 BEST EDITION

I have however just read about movements and in particular the Asian 7750.

The watch has a 9oclock second hand and the movement is 7750 28800 vph.

Does the DONT use the stopwatch funtion advice still hold true on this latest version ?

I am slightly disappointed if that is the case, but I can live with it. :whistling:

That seems to be the general consensus regarding this movement. I've been heavily considering ordering an 1887 Cal as my next rep and in my research it's been strongly advised to leave the chrono function alone.

Yes, its still hold true, because the advice is not only for the A7750 but also for the Valjoux 7750 ;)

It is hard to believe that there still is people who will not use their chronographs because of what they've read or heard about the A7750/7753. Get it over with, guys! Wear the watch and use the chronograph function, because there is nothing wrong with doing so other than bad luck. These movements work just the same as the swiss-made, only the chinese may come with some dirt or poorer lubrication. Enjoy the functions of your watches! If not, what is the purpose of buying a chronograph? Is it just for the looks of it?
