Just as the title suggests, I've received a new Pam320 GMT over the last few days, the GMT hand moves round, but just not correctly. I can set it at GMT +2 hrs at night, but 7 hrs later, it's moved to +6hrs.

So I guess my question is, does the function work correctly on this model, if so then I may have a good looking, but faulty watch.

It has come from one of our trusted dealers, so hopefully, I will be looked after, if I need to return it.

The GMT function on most watch works over 24h.
So it should moves 6hrs over a 12hs period, not 7.

Meaning that if I understood you're problem correctly you do have a real problem.
The only thing I don't understand is that mechanicaly: it's just impossible!

Hi,

Thanks for your answer. I must be really thick, as I still can't follow that logic. If a place is plus 2hrs ahead of your TZ, should it not always be 2hrs ahead? and show this on the dial.

Say at 1 AM you set the gmt time to +2 hours i.e. 3 AM then the GMT needle will be at the 1.5 hour mark. 4 hours later at 5 AM the GMT needle should be at the 3.5 hour mark so it will be behind the hour needle not in front of it. If your watch is doing something different then something is very wrong.

Hi,

Thanks for that, so at 5am my current actual time shown with the hour hand, will be at the 5 position as normal, but the GMT hand now will show 3.5, so what are the calulations is needed for me to work out that it is 7am. Is it just x2?

Mate it really depends on the movement type. Is the GMT hand independently adjustable (can you move the GMT hand around without moving any of the other hands)? If not then what you GMT hand is showing is AM or PM. when the hand is at 12 it's 24h, at 3 it's 6am, at 6 is 12pm, at 9 is 6pm. That's basically how it works

Yes, it can be moved independently, it's done from crown position one, I can change the date, or the GMT hand only from this position.

The gmt hand treats the dial like a 24 hour dial. So at the 6 o'clock position the gmt hand is indicating 12 o'clock. Check out some of the other Pam models with gmt features that have 24 hour dials on the bezel or dial along with standard markings.

I'd show you my gmt homage dial bit I'm on my phone.
