Hi All,


I just ordered my first proper non quartz rep. Been mulling over what to buy and have finally ordered a JP Montoya in rose gold after 6 months.

After reading around the board I know this is a pretty good rep and I like the design a lot. So I have ordered one from Lay. Communication has been pretty good so far and I received QC pics and video pretty quickly.

Now I'm nowhere near an expert on watches so was hoping you guys could have a look at the pics and vid. Looks pretty good to me and I did request a model with the newer movement with extra jewel fitted. Video is a bit short to see how smooth the secs at 12 is but seems ok.

Looks good. Don't worry about the secs at 12 sweep, you wouldn't even notice the difference between a 21,600 bph mvmt and a 28,800 bph mvmt with such a small hand.

My favorite AP. But I just can't pull it off. I've come so close to ordering it. Lay is a great seller. Post pics when you get it.

When you unpack the watch be sure the bezel screws and caseback screws are tightened....they have a tendency to be very loose on the Montoya's

Question for all; Does the Montoya wear bigger then the Royal Oak Offshores? I was under the impression that the Montoya is a true 45mm watch as opposed to 42mm. My Safari, while an incredibly beautiful watch is just to small for my tastes, while my Shaq is awee bit gigantic, lol.

The Montoya wears big due to the Gold. My wrist is 8" and I had a chance to try on a GEN. Stunning to say the least. But it's not something that will fly under the radar.
