@vcappp, thanks for the heads-up. Seeing is believing. I just asked TS to post a video showing the complications of the watch. The MASTBR misspelling has been corrected for sure. We'll see...

What everyone think about this rep? There is a new release from 6 days ago.

Gen info..
Master Geographic STAINLESS STEEL
REF. 1428421

The size is different but not sure it looks not much different in terms of visual appearance… .. anyone say something?

RECENTLY
Rep from TSwatch listed at July 19th, 2018 released..
https://ts-station.cn/goods.php?ProId=24044
Size 43mm x 15mm
Not sure this is actually really a completely new product or the same bad rep below from the last year. Maybe they just corrected the misspelled MASTBR to MASTER and released again?? However, TSwatch says this one is super clone..
(For the size TSwatch tends to measure it actually, so maybe there is possibility, the other TDs can say 13.5mm even if TSwatch says 15mm. For example, the recent AquaTerra, the other TDs say 12mm but TSwatch says 13.5mm which is more accurate. TSwatch video shows it is 13.3mm. Gen spec is 13.2mm).

LAST YEAR
Rep from PureTime listed at September 22nd, 2017 released..

I have the "old" version (from a few years ago) and mine is the last of the series, where MASTBR was already corrected to MASTER. It also had no spelling mistakes on the cities. A little disappointing that the makers failed to capitalize on the prior work and had to reinvent the wheel.

Some other quick observations:

1. The only visible changes are that the shape of the back plate is now corrected, the rotor design is more accurate and that blued (or coloured?) hands were added.

2. The watch (old and new versions) have functioning dual time. You adjust it by turning the hours clockwise or anticlockwise. The city disc can be adjusted through the second crown but unlike the gen, that does not adjust the second time zone - you have to do that in parallel to turning the city disc.

3. My power reserve is pretty true to design (around 42 hrs), so if the new version is only 30 hrs as someone mentioned, that would be a significant downgrade.

4. The main downside of this model remains the size (especially if you run into a gen as happened to me in a restaurant recently). The thickness (15mm vs 12 mm) sticks out like a sore thumb, but the diameter is the main culprit. 43 mm vs 39 mm makes the watch wear totally differently on the wrist. Don't get me wrong - this rep is still a masterpiece and one of the best made dual time dressy reps (right behind the GP 1966 DT) and it is striking - just wears totally differently than the gen.

Btw, do/did you own a GP 1966 DT rep? If so then is it automatic or manual wound?

I do and one of these days I will post a review :).

It's automatic, like the gen. It is very well done - see for yourself. The rotor and the back are decorated very much like the gen.

TSwatch were very co-operative with me to find out the functions of this new release. They could send me 2 short video clips (, ) of the watch. Those reveal that unfortunately the second crown doesn't adjust the secondary time in this version either .

Today I received my Ailang 5809 watch. Seems all functions are working :punk:. I'll post a brief offtopic review of the watch over here soon.

:eek:fftopic:

This is a mini-review of my Ailang 5809 White Dial SS watch which I think is a good and cheap (ca. USD70) alternative of the JLC Master Geographic. Sorry, but my photos of my watch are not color-proof:
ZpUee.md.jpg
ZpRBT.md.jpg
ZpsyQ.md.jpg
ZpM8A.md.jpg

Details of my watch:

Factory: Ailang

Bought: from AliExpress

Case diameter: 43.2 mm (without crown)

Case thickness: 15.0 mm

Front and back glasses: mineral crystal (tested)

Power reserve: 44 hrs (tested)

Lume: 3/5 for hour idices, 2/5 for hands (in my subjective scale)

Frequency: 21.600 bph (3 Hz)

Automatic: yes

Hacking: no

Accuracy: -15 s/day (worn out of the box)

Compications: all working

Turning the crown CCW adjusts all hands.

Turning the crown CW adjusts all hands except the hour and 24h hands of the secondary time zone.

Issue: minor misalignment between the minute hands as well as between the secondary time hands (see my first photo)

Thank you, it is really an interesting alternative!
