Which dial color is more "iconic" ? I read somewhere online Steve McQueen owned a black dialed Explorer 2.

The Steve McQueen version is an earlier iteration of the Explorer 2 which only came with a black dial.
And there are 5 different dial variations of that watch, the first of which comes with a straight second hand - ie it doesnt have the "lollipop" shape on it, and thats the rarest, but the others all look almost exactly the same as the first version.
On the version above, the white dials have become more collectable.
