Guys, as Sharrkey had said we've crapped the original thread too much.

No more stabbing based on jealousy and no worshipping and degrading remarks on only available version for those who have a fully modded one.

Let's start over and make this constructive.

Any comments on the J12 GPs are welcome, just no comparison with modded ones please. Only J12 vs. Gen and general comments, review, impressions.

OK, good time for a re-start.

I ordered and paid for my GP FC 3 days ago, Angus is not aware of any discussion with JF for redoing the dial and tachy at this point.
Waiting for my QC pics now ... the case and construction was on my list for many years now.

Too bad about the other thread. Many misunderstandings (of humour, of irony, of pride, of intent, etc.) and lots of flaming escalations and "emperor's new clothes" there.
I doubt I will get one of these J12 GPs, so I will have little to offer, except suggestions for upgrading them, and sharing experiences with the modification of the Noob GPs.
Nevertheless, I think buyers of the JF GPs are getting a great base watch for further modification for the price, and I am glad new buyers can acquire this long-discontinued model.

I only heard PT's plan to discuss the issue with JF couple of days ago. No idea when. Also, no idea what they are going to talk about. ;-p

Just heard that Angus is planning to talk to JF about it. So please don't haggle him about what he is going to do about it. It goes for everyone.

ANyways, good call on ordering the FCGP.

It's definitely way more improved over noob v2 in terms of both the dial and the techy ring. not to mention the case and pusher guard.

I've ordered the platinum GP but I think I might actually order the FC as well.

Oh, by the way, the price is good. The noob v2, if you remember, cost more than this one. ;-O

It would be an excellent base watch if mod is needed.
We appreciate your effort to provide your input as your expertise is always an asset here. Kinda like AP board's ALE. ;-)

last thread did turn a little un-savoury towards the end :whistling:
now we should focus on the j12 gp release. we await a new mod-god. until he arrive the mod upgrade is prof ar crystal and gloss the under bezel

Hey bud, please don't take me wrong.

I luuuuv z-gp and StevenLee's GP as well very very much. I have no reservations about them and not even jealous. ;-p

Even if I was offered a slot from 10, I'd have declined. No way I'll spend 3k.. gradual modification little bit by bit suits me better. Able to afford it is another thing..cough cough!

Because I admire their dedication and result, I frequently talk to them through different thread and PM.

As much as I'd like to see the Z-gp, it turned a little ugly.. almost became bragging right for some and for feeling bad for spending $850 for inferior product for the others. Not constructive input and comparison as you and many others intended by giving us the ideas and up loading photos.

So, I'd like to propose a rule here - of course need consent from you all. Strictly NO posting of z-GP

No Z vs J12 is absolutely needed for the purpose of this thread. There is always Gen photos around. No point comparing rep to a rep anyway.

Z gp discussion is better suited at modding section and more appropriate comparison of Z vs J12 would be a 'review' by one of you with zorro's master piece ;-)

Yes you are right. Wasn't 'ugly', thanks for correcting. We tried to make it funny as it seemed it was on the verge of becoming ... well.. not constructive for the purpose of the thread. Let's put it that way. I miss the pie contest by the way.. lol

I'm sure we all still love to see the modded GPs.. on separate thread perhaps. ? ;-)
