After placing this order at Trusty almost 5 weeks ago, I received my new IWC Vintage Ingenieur rep today. This was a limited amount of the Noob version that Andrew had on stock, so I took the opportunity and invested the 240 Dollars. After all, it's on the NWBIG list and the general opinion about it is positive. The watch arrived safely wrapped and working fine out of the box. General workmanship at arm's length is nice and I'm happy with the looks, although the strap feels super cheap and needs to be replaced (as expected, so no big deal). The sunray dial's blue really pops in the sun, perfect summer watch. The detail finish of the dial, hands, as well as the brushed and polished surfaces are executed OK. I'd give it 5/10 on microscopic level, 8/10 to the naked eye. Especially the hands have room for improvement and I can see some issues without magnification. Date window is not 100% centered and some days sit lower in the window than others (compare "2" and "21" in images). The outlines of the print on the dial are sharp, surface could be a little more even. The clasp engraving could have sharper outlines, but this isn't really visible until you're up close. However, it all disappears when worn and not analyzed in detail, because it the overall looks are great. You decide for yourself, if you can live with the flaws, but for that money I'd say you can't go wrong. And now: pictures, or it didn't happen!
