Hi RWI People
So today i want Show you a little Paint Mod for the
IWC Top Gun Chronograph
So the IWC Top Gun is a really nice Watch, but the Damn White Colour on the
TOP GUN Logo is nagging me a lot.
So we all know the Film "Top Gun with Tom Cruise" ?!
The IWC Top Gun Watch leans to the Elite school of the Navy Flyer.
The Watch was Based on the Paints of their Planes (F-14 TomCat and the F-16 Falcon)
But Basically on the Colour of the Old F-14 because this is the Plane that are on the Carrier of the US Navy
The New F-14 is more White and that Colour we didn´t want for our Paint Mod
So Revell has in my Eyes the Best Colours for Models and our Watches etc (youth memories, Glue and Paint Planes)
Ok... So the Main Colour of the F14 is Stone Grey that is the Colour Number 75
and this is the Colour we need for our Paint Mod...
First we start with removing the color (Use an not too sharp needle for it)
After some fiddly Work it looks like these (She´s Naked)
without Colour it looks cool too...
Let´s see under Microscope x200
Nice... Clean the rest with Some 96% Alcohol...
Then we Paint the new Colour over the Logo (Sorry lost the Pics of that Work )
Let the Colour dry a few mins...
Then use an Q-Tip with some Colour Mix Thinner
i use the Revell Thinner for it
Then sweeps gently with the q-tip over the logo, don´t push the q-tip to hard on the case.
The Colour in the Holes will get with the Thinner a nice even line...
And the End result will look like these... (I will add some better Pics later) was made with the Iphone in not soooo good Light Conditions
Now the Damn White glossy Colour is Removed and the Watch has the right Mat Grey Colour as the Gen
Hope you enjoy the little Paint Mod Tour?!
See you next on these Screen...
