IWC Portuguese Authenticity Question

Hi all,

Need help from minds much more knowledgable then my own regarding authenticity of an IWC watch Im interested in:

It seems legit from the picture, but the cirumstances of the seller seem a bit dodgy. Supposedly purchased in Feb 2013 and selling less than 2 months later. Also note that it hasnt sold previously and he has dropped the price.

I asked the seller a bit about the watch and he replied with:

This watch was purchased in IWC authorised retailer in Singapore called Cortina Watch - Raffles City location and you can verify this through IWC official website.

I can provide you a copy of the receipt, this watch was purchased well above the listing price so this is a great bargain.


What do you guys think? If its genuine it would be a good deal for the watch in Australia (all ADs seem to either have none or are asking for a lot more).

Seems legit, but I never seen gen. watches wrapped in plastic film.

Seems to be diff versions . Check the bottom part of the 12 ; on some close to the subdial , on others there is a space.

Watch looks to be legit. Ask if he can show half the serial number to see if it matches the one on the warranty

Either franken or gen. Didn't get a good look at the crown.

Like Luthier..........I just don't 'get' the plastic covered dial.

I'm no horologist............but if you're really interested, ask him to send you a scanned copy of the purchase invoice so that you can conduct independent inquiries.

I can't get over the $100 shipping cost though................
