So Its been roughly a month since I received my mark xviii from Ryan. I wanted to do a week on the wrist review, so here I am just a little late. Let me start offf by saying I’m not new to the replica scene, but my purchases have been minimal. After almost 4 years with my PAM111, it was time for a change. After some research and weeding out options for various reasons, I decide on the mark xviii from Ryan, zf version.

First impressions
The simple elegance of this watch is tremendous. It’s functional to say the least, and the overall design to me is a simple display of perfection. Is this a super rep? I would say probably not, but that’s all up for opinion. I will say it’s damn close. Don’t get me wrong I know all reps have faults, but to me the biggest issue is the date wheel....Numbers are not great. Lume and ar are also mediocre, but hell this was sub $400... I can

not complain at all.

Accuracy.
Part of the reason for getting this was the a2892. I’m not sure if it’s made by seagull or not, but this movement kicks ass. Over the first week, 7 days, I gained a total of 23 seconds. I thought what the hell let’s make a small tweek. Over week 2, the total loss was 2 seconds. Yes, 2 seconds, over an entire week. What funny is the thing only loses time if I wear it to sleep. Wearing all day, let it lie face up at work when I can’t wear it, it stays right on time. For week 2, I was at about 6 seconds slow through 5 days, for 6 and 7 I took it off at night, and it gained 3 seconds back. Long story short, I can make this wat h either gain 2 seconds a night, or lose 2 seconds, depending on if I wear it to sleep. Part of my reason for this watch is it would be an easy swap for a Swiss movement, but with the accuracy I’m seeing there is no need at this point.

Overall this is a great watch. If your looking for something that really can go either dress or casual, this is it. Attached are some pics, on the rep steel, and on a Barton navy blue canvas strap. I was a little skeptical on this at first, but the Barton is very well made, I highly recommend.

The last pics of this are on the most recent strap purchase, a stowa pilot. I replaced the polished rivets with new ones that I brushed (tried brushing the factory rivets and they turned bronze). This strap gives the watch a whole new wrist presence. It makes it feel larger than the 40mm, which I like.

Anyway, if you made it this far, thanks for reading!

Nice write up. I don't like the watch but it's an interesting read. For me IWC's Portugieser and big pilots are it.

Which Replica Version is this? Are there any flaws compared to a gen?

The canvas strap looks great. I got the MKS / Miyota version with blue dial and also love the simplicity of the design.

I find the lug edges to be very sharp - and the brush finish on the face to be a little uneven - I’m being picky after wearing for a month.

They also look good on Haveston natos.
