(After first checking out if its waterproof) I took my 1305 along for holiday and for diving. The depth was around 10 meters and the Rep kept up really well.
Of course I couldn't resist to take a few photos of the watch in between too :giggle:
The water here is really clear and bright.

No. Small skulls. Not real ones, of course :bleh:

Those were the shrunken skulls of those who dared to swim without checking if their PAMs were waterproofed, and lost.

I've actually been on the winning side of that argument (I had no time and no watchmaker I knew performed waterproofing on reps) and successfully swam in the waters off Boracay with my PAM508. But again, not something I would recommend unless you're willing to roll the dice.

The Must do thing to do, before going into the water, is doing a waterproof test for sure. Some Dealers say their reps are waterproofed. But better be safe and retest it. The waterproofness can change from one minute to the other. Especially if the watch is in different pressure environment like on the airway to the customer.
I have 3 of my reps that I took into the water. And they were luckylie all ok. A Panet Ocean 600 and to Pam.
But my main point is that, if the Rep passes a waterproof test, they should be the same safe to use like any Gen. I just would really deep sea dive to get close to the 200m waterproof edge. But swimming should be safe for sure

I just placed an order for my first rep and this is the first order of business for me. I am going to Spain, Italy and Greece and I want to make sure the new baby is protected

freefallric, I have a vision of you just swimming round and round in circles, right arm in action, and left arm permanently crooked in "looking at my PAM" position...
