is version 2 that much better than version 1

If you don't mind the half lume dot on 3, and the rubber band instead of stainless, I don't think the V.I not is that bad. Someone did a comparison between the two. Both have thier pros and cons.
On the wrist the difference is negligeable. I would personally go for the v1 if you want it on rubber/leather strap and save money!

I own both a V1 and V2. I have combined the two and made one which I think is a great watch and will have spare parts to build another.
Here is what I put together.
V1 case because of the correct date engraving
V2 bezel because of the better pearl and engraved B
V2 dial (now, I think the V1 is better done but we all know about the lume dot at 3...)
V1 hand set because the lume on the V2 set was horrible and the V2 chrono hand color is wrong
V1 case back
V2 movement with V1 rotor.
And the bracelet from the V2
Came out pretty nice in my humble opinion. I will post some pics once my ex brings my camera back.

having held CBR's v1 and v2 in my hand.. i will tell you that the v1 dial is better other than that one huge flaw... if they got it better it would a different story....
Hmmm, been asking myself this same question, Can get the V1 for $200 and the V2 for $255 . Seems like its not really worth the extra dosh for the V2. I mean, who is even gonna notice the half lume at 3 on the V1!? As weve said before 99% wouldnt know how it is supposed to be on the gen anyway. hmmm. Maybe it will be a V1 for me?! Im sure you can get the V1 with the metal strap anyhow (sure I saw it mentioned on Silix). Decisions decisions.
