Is this "special" KW PAM571 any good?

I did read Ale's guide, the KW version is a good choice. The reason I'm asking is because Toro doesn't provide detailed information on his special offers and I'm not sure if this is in fact KW 571 with the Seagull movement, that's classified as a super rep in the guide:

http://www.toro.host/index.php?route...roduct_id=2890

The price is attractive, but I'm worried that it might be one of those "no such thing as a free lunch" situations.

mysterio ?

Any other 47mm titanium divers with a black dial worth checking out? I was all set to get the 719,but there's something about that blue dial I just can't stand.. It looks cheap to me, I can't help it..

Is perhaps the 569 a better rep?

Seagull or 7750? I've had crappy experience with 7750's before, but none whatsoever with the ST255.

Thoughts anyone?

Would a VSF PAM508 V2 be a better choice?

Most of my 7750s had some sort of an issue and there were many many..many.. So I'm guessing that Seagulls are even worse?
I talked to my TD and he says that most of these good old PAM subs are not available anymore, only the 285 and 719 can be sourced at the moment. The ones I don't really like much.. Panerai is not so very hot anymore, is it?

I bought this one recently and let me preface this by saying I own a LOT of submersibles. If not my favourite, it's a close second. I own the 569 too and if I lost both and could only replace one, it would be the 571. That's a bargain. Buy it now. I haven't had a problem with any seagulls either. I probably have 5. Nothing wrong with them other than it's probably a little easier to get parts for a 7750.

Hm, that's a good price... but too big for my taste.
I never had issues with 7750. My first rep is still running fine and it is 15 years old.
I would say in this rep world your luck plays a major role

Thanks for your replies fellas, I appreciate it!

199$ is really a great price, but I find it too similar to the 243 in appearance and I've sold that one recently because I got bored with it. The 569 is something else with that hobnail dial and I love the ecru lume. Destro is not my cup of tea, but I can get used to it I suppose. I think that 248$ is a pretty good price too, eh?

I just wish I could still get the VSF 508, but they're not available anymore and there are no plans for new batches :(

Norrie : which one is your favorite? :)

It wears nothing like the 243. I have the noob 243 too. I prefer the 571. I try and remember to take some comparo pics for you tomorrow. The sun just went down on my Sunday.

But have you asked toro already if these are even available? Listing on the website is far from a guarantee. The reason they are "specials" is because the price is lower than the regular price, if you're familiar with the term "on special". They could be some NOS watches that toro would just like to move out of his inventory even with minimal profit. Structure wise they would be no different from the "non-special" PAM571.

OK, I'd really appreciate that :) It figures about the comfort, smaller watches, that are as thick as their bigger counterparts, usually look much more balanced.

mysterio : both 571 V6 and the 569 V6 are available for immediate shipping. Toro has confirmed that the 571 is simply old inventory that needs to be sold. I asked him, because I was worried that they might be some QC rejects.. I'm well aware of the term "special", I just wasn't sure if it was THE watch that's mentioned in ALE's guide as a super rep ( Toro sometimes gets some awkward versions that can't be sold elsewhere and puts them in his "special" list ).

I must say that I kinda prefer the 569, it looks different in a good way and I love the ecru lume.

This article made me fall even more in love :)

Managed to get a few in before it got too dark. Titanium has a lovely warmth to it as compared to steel. And before anyone asks, the straps are Malio, unknown and Mario Paci.

Norrie I can't thank you enough, this is just what I needed :) That Malio strap looks gorgeous and it suits the 569 perfectly! The 571 doesn't look bad either..bloody hell, I'm afraid I'm getting both in the end :D And I just remembered how much I hated that bloody cyclops on the 243..

Oh, you were asking about the XF 024c in another thread. Well, I talked to Toro and Ryan and they have both confirmed that it's in fact available!

No problem. Oh, that's good news. Thanks for the heads up. I just bought a green AP chrono diver so hopefully they're still about after xmas. Yeah, I love that 569 combo. It doesn't illustrate it very well in these pics but it works really well with the ecru markers. The 571 had been on my hit list for years and when it arrived, it made me say wow out loud. I thought it would be one of those watches I had to at least have in my box but it's very much a regular wear. If you can get both, I'd recommend it. Especially on sale.

That's bad news about the 508 too. I thought that would be a pretty good seller. I won't be selling mine, that's for sure. It works so well with so many different straps. I think my top 3 would be the 571, 508 and 087.

Yeah, I know, that was my number one pick.. But one of these will do to. I'll probably also get the Noob 127 before they're gone for good. I've never owned one and I think it's a must have. My favorite back in the day was the Noob 372.
The 087 is a gorgeous watch. I used to own one, but it was a lemon, Sora decided to sell me a crappy one back then. I sent it back, but was never able to buy one again.
Looking forward to my future PAM days :)

OK, I'll do that. The strap looks very comfortable and pliable, exactly what I'm looking for.

I'm also looking at Corrigia and Gunny straps. I like the Caitlin 2, it's reasonably priced and it looks the balls.
I had a Corrigia strap before ( Kampfschwimmer ), but it was too soft, in a rubbery kinda way. I'll contact Cengio at Corrigia and ask if they're all like this.

Thanks mate!
