Is this normal?????

Came home yesterday , opened my winder to put my Pam back on it - looked at my 212 and here is what i found. The watch is less than a month old - do you think i should contact the dealer or i have to do the replacement myself?

Nope, not normal.

it looks like a glass crystal. there was probably a small crack and it finally gave out under the strss of the bezel pressing on it. Sapphire should not do that but they will also break if you drop watch for example.

man....tough luck....i doubt the dealer's gonna replace tho....

but if it was advertised as a saphire crystal, dealer should at least send you a brand new crystal.

DSN=Davidsen? If yes - does the new one have to be specifically for 212 or ......?

Sh..! Exactly happened to my 212 half a year ago. I went around the globe to find a crystal. Davidsen hasn't got fitting crystals for the 212. I found one on the bay: Look for pocket watches. Don't laugh: The crystal size of the 212 is huge and you will not find a raised crystal that easy. The pocket watch crystal unfortuantely is mineral crystal but was just 5 Euro shipped. Take a look on german ebay, I am crossing my fingers!

I though the 212 is the same size as the 217 and Davidsen does have those. I could be wrong but maybe someone and can clarify it if I am.

The 217 is 47mm while the 212 is 44mm.

As for the glass, have a look at cousinsuk:

1.10mm Sternkreuz "MDM" Domed Watch Mineral Glasses go up to 36.5mm. I don't know if they are the same shape of the 212 crystal, though.

Im still in 217/127 mode since I am getting these modded right now, however Davidsens other 44mm shoud it no.

It would probably fit, but wouldn't be "correct" as it's flat, instead of domed like the 212 should be....

Davidsen doesn't offer any domed 44mm sapphires, IIRC.
