The fact is man wearing GEN always choose aftermarket straps.

The fact is, this is NOT a fact, but a guess. Look at the gen fora, LOTS of people are wearing their PAMs on OEM straps.

@OP: one of the reasons most of us like Panerai watches a lot, is that its easy to change straps and there are TONS of super craftsmen, doing awesome bands from old, vintage styles to exotic, never seen hides. I would not venture in OEM straps at the beginning, they are boring. If you have funds, look at APB Bands, Peter Watchacc, they do OEM quality hides and stitching / style, but you can customize the looks.

So far, the only OEM -s I've found special are the assolutamente line and the burgundy alligator straps. Just my opinion Rudy.

edit: OEM deployants go for 150-200 usd as far as I remember, and OEM alligator hides around 200-250 usd, depending on availability and usage.

if you're looking for OEM straps, I'd rather buy on paneristi.com, the moderators over there at least check all threads and people do not burn themselves so easily. Never post a WTB thread however, scammers will spam your email addy. You can ask for references on all sellers, there are good deals over there, but you must look regularly.

As u indulge further in paneristi community, u will know what I mean, especially for luminor lover.
The only OEM strap I would wear is JV on Cali.
Anyway, it's my 2 cents.

BTW, RUDY if you do prefer OEM strap, the accessory corner in community site should be the right place for sourcing.

Mate, where have you seen OEM deployants for $150? The cheapest I have seen on risti for a used one is $200. BNIB goes for closer to $350.
Rudy, as karesz says, the straps are part of the fun of Pam's. We can all offer advice on which OEM or non-OEM straps are best, but you're gonna have to find out for yourself which one you like most and which one feels best to you. The best part is if you get something you don't love you'll be able to sell it here for minimum loss.

Clearly I did not remeber right on the price... Sorry for that. OEM deployants are that expensive!

when I buy used straps I insist on the bag the strap it comes with. Although I've seen these being repped lately too, so you have to be careful. There was a seller on the bay who one of the guys here bought from and realized he was selling all reps. Not sure if it was this guy though.

I can tell you that I have one from the bay where I thought it was gen (came with bag and everything looked correct). But it was pointed out that the bag did indeed look incorrect. I took the bag/strap to the PAM AD in my area and they can't even tell either if it is rep or gen. They said they would have to send it to Panerai directly for the final verification. I ended up throwing it in a drawer and going with only 3rd party straps from now on.

Just proves the point....getting to the point where rep forum members are getting ripped off.
I've purchased oem off of p.com, but I always insist on the bag and, as much as possible, I try to buy from members who are a bit known and not random sellers.

Yes it was your story I read ,,,Hence why I started this thread,,,Trying to attract more experienced members in this thread
to help with ID OEM straps and help with which dealers to buy from! And which not to buy from,,Thanks for posting here! Could you repost some pics here of the strap you bought please? Maybe someone here with more experience can ID the strap you got,,,I know ALE and some other Mods here are really deep into Pam's ! And can make the call!

Don't buy a gen strap on ebay. Bad idea. Try rolex forums or watch recon.

The watchbandsource guys are scam artists. All of their stuff is fake. You can tell by the bags and the deeper panerai engraving on the back of the straps.
