I just received my new 111h from one of our dealers. He offers a "superlumed dial mod" upgrade, which I bought. Here's a picture of one detail of the lume job. Obviously, the picture is enlarged, and the lume is not as visible to the naked eye. Yet it bothers me. It doesn't look like a good lume job at all. Am I being unreasonable? And if not, what do you think? Should I do something about it?

Well.... If you paid extra for that I think that`s not right.
Someone did a terrible job, if it bothers you ... it`s just that, you will never look at it and be pleased .... you will always have that gut feeling that says " crap lume job "

I think you have to unwrap a watch and go....Ohhhh what a beauty!

In your case ( paying extra ) you are never going to be OK with it.

Edited to add.

If I liked the lume as much as you guy`s do I would want to do it myself, seen a good tutorial on here somewhere.... that was wayyy cool.

to my friend rooster,

yes, you should complain about it. That is not a nice superlumed PAM.
I thought the bad times are over for you? Buy the next watch from me

who did you get that from so I can avoid paying for the "upgrade" if I decide to buy a 111?

guru, you're dead right! I don't know why I buy from dealers anymore... Never been ripped off by a fellow member, but dealers are letting me down constantly. Your IWC still rocks, by the way!!

Anyway, maybe I should contact the dealer and complain... Or should I just get it relumed by a modder and bite the bullet? Is this even fixable??

Rooster, it looks to me that too much lume is applied and it looks like a tear drop. If it was sold to you with superlume appied, complain. I guess it could be fixed but we talk about 150 USD.

Can you get a shot of it charged and in the dark? That will show the true lume look. It looks odd, but hard to tell. If you charge it and show it in the dark, it will be obvious if sloppy and also if superlumed at all.

Color and brightness will be way off if not superlumed.

I could certainly do that... Although I think it looks fine when it lights up. It's during the day that you see the obviously sloppy work.

I contacted the dealer. No response. I have contacted him again and will give him a few more days, since it's CNY. I sent him a link to this thread so he can see what's going on. Not disclosing who it is yet, until I give him a chance to make amends.

What do you mean?

I mean the black streaks in the 11-12-1 hour mark. Maybe it's just a reflection of some kind, I dunno.

Like Threadlocker said, get a lume shot in the dark.

Looks that way to me as well. Too much lume applied to the backplate. Which dealer?

It's not really that too much lume was applied... it's more that he put the dial back on the bottom plate while the lume was still wet.
Yes... too much lume is present.. but still.. that's not why it looks like that.

Just as an FYI: I truly believe that the superlume from China is not as good as the modders. Have had several from both, and the modders always is brighter and lasts longer.

Rocket, you're the man! It's much appreciated. The watch is already on your way.
Will post a picture of it when it's done.

PS: No response from the dealer, of course. WIll wait till after cny... Really want to know what he's got to say for himself.
