Is this a 3135 clone with a free-sprung balance?

The entire top balance jewel is a fake deco plate to look like a free sprung balance. The actual balance jewel resides underneath. With the timing adjusters moved to the opposite side, it makes adjustment more time consuming as the auto wind must be removed to have clear access to them. It’s one of the stupidest things they have ever done.

Agreed… and that’s not the only pain in the ass design choice on the vr3235. Due to the paraflex balance bridge decoration plate, the end-shake screw adjustment isn’t functional. Adjusting end-shake needs to be done with foil shims. But since vsf won’t share the vs3235, this is the best anybody other than vsf can get.

Any specific thread where one could find more info about the story behind VS3235? I am amazed by how the managed to pull such a step-up clone movement and still keep it under exclusiveness for VSF-made watches. I am guessing there is an interesting background context into the movements scene, but not sure if there's sufficient content on that around here.

I recently wrote a couple of long form pieces on Reddit r/reptime aboit clone movements, but my focus was on quality, reliability, and identification.

Rolex movements:

And AP, PP, and RM movements:

But I don’t know much about the history of how various factories managed to got Dandong (the actual movement maker of the VS movements) to make such high quality and not share it around.

@Jayalvin777 might know some of the backstory about the VS3235.

@dogwood - that's a great piece! Tons of information consolidated in one single place, and very easy to digest - thank you!

@Triplock - appreciate you passing the message along! Hopefully @Jayalvin777 can delight us with the backstory.

Thanks, I should probably put together a version and post it here. There were some great comments on reddit about ways I could have improved it, e.g. by adding labels / arrows to the images to point out the differences between the different movements. I guess that'll be my project for this week.

Sounds great! And it would certainly be one hell of a place to easily compare and spot differences between one and the others - please do keep us posted!

new vr3135 and 3186 are unstable.... I don't know what's wrong. with them if you just remove the automatic bridge even if you don't touch nothing else I mean nothing after putting again in place the automatic bridge the beat error goes crazy I can't fix it I can fix the time of the watch but timegrapher reads spare dots everywhere ... and that's I say again even if I didn't do anything! I notice that at first when I wanted to give a clean and proper oiling the automatic staff and when I put it back the watch went crazy... never had that issues with VS or SH or old VR this customization to make the movement looks like gen is the worst thing I can thing to do on a movement

and I meet it again on the next new VR does anybody knows why this happens? I don't thing I did something wrong... because I didn't touch the balance things... nothing except the automatic parts... I thought that is maybe the bridge force the 2 legs of the balance bridge (I mean the legs who's control the time and the beat error) force becouse the bridge is on those sensitive legs but I don't thing the bridge touch those legs... becouse they customise and the automatic bridge making a gap underside of the bridge to make a space for those legs... so you can't put a gen automatic bridge there... another reason why the new VR suck.. but my real problem is after I put back on the second new Vr the automatic bridge the amplitude went to 350 almost 360 .... dangerous numbers... I services a lot of older 3135 and never had those issues... if somebody knows something more it will be helpful thanks...
