Is this 177 a gen?

Saw this beauty on repgeek and was wowed by it!!! Looks very good, is it gen... or a heavily modded 177...

Looks gen to me. The dial doesn't appear to have any of the Little Hero tells (although it's tough to be certain without straight on pictures), crown looks good, I don't think anyone has made any Historic shape Ti CGs, etc.

Hooli you are right again, the owner just replied me on RG and it is Gen... I guess it is just the aura the gen watches give... the moment I see this I just have a niggling feeling it is gen...

BAH! Gen aura is overrated! LOL. C'mon, give credit to some of the top notch reps we've got here. Throw in half-decent photography skillz and you'll have equally convincing pix. DSN's 177H with the revised CG looks just as good. Just need a better strap and you'll be laughing. Thats what I'm gonna do.

if it would be a little Ho' dial, the font would be way fatter.

this watch also looks gen to me....the font seems - to perfect.

1. The shape of the '6' on the dial is cut with the right degree of curvature
2. The 'A' in mArinA and pAnerAi all have the high cross bar

The Force is strong with you. :lol:

DSN's dials don't have low cross bars on the "A"s, though they do have other tells. The biggest tell is usually the shape of the 2 in 12, but LH and DSN have both pretty well fixed that (LH's is a shade better than DSN's, but LH's dial has some funky spacing between the P, A and N in "Panerai"), the shape of the 6, the size/spacing of the fonts and the *color* of the font. It's tough to tell in a lot of pictures, but the 2nd pic Alvi posted shows the beige/off-white color of the text really well. No bright white or gray to be found there.

DSN's Ti crown is good enough to be gen, IMO (miles better than his SS crown, which I don't get), so that's a wash. The CG is a tell though. The size/shape of the CG cut-out, as well as the curved top "Historic" shape. V has done a good job of replicating the historic shape CGs in SS, but no one has done it in Ti, to my knowledge.
