Is there anything out there similar to the Fiddy, but automatic?

I know a lot think that a Panerai SHOULD be a manual wind watch, but I am lazy, and since Im going to own only one watch, I'll be wearing it everyday, so an auto would be preferred. I love my 127, but would like something in a 7750 flavor. What is the model, closest in styling, but rockin an auto movment?

I like the 47mm size, simple dial and of course, the dome crystal.

You could do a 312, but I think the case is 44mm.
7750 auto with domed crystal. Best Panerai in my opinion....

Strodda, you've got a bunch of options if you're willing to go down to 44mm. In addition to the 312, there's the 328, and--if you're ok with GMT and power reserve complications--the 233. It's worth browsing ALE7575's reference guide.

If you're willing to go with a sterile dial, keep an eye on the 'bay for "mini fiddy automatic." There are a few Chinese sellers that put them up there occasionally (there are always a few w/o CGs or with the flat crystal, but proper "fiddy" style automatics appear every once in a while)

If you absolutely have to have 47mm, auto, and "fiddy" style in one package, your best and cheapest bet may be Jackson. He can get you a 47mm case and an auto movement.

Good luck!

Hi Strodda
I think that the PAM Excel Guide can help you
http://forum.replica-watch.info/vb/showthread.php/excel-table-pam-111855?t=111855

Leaving aside Radiomir and Subemersibles in 47mm there are no PAM good replicas
In 44mm you have:
320,329 and 233 are similar but no good replicas
312 is similar and good replica.
351 is very similar, with little dome, and good replica but Titanium and Brown dial (a beautiful watch).

Regards

ALE

Thanks guys. I've had a 312, but I don't remember the crystal being that domed. And yes, 47mm is a must. When I had the 127 and various 44mm pams, the others just felt small. Who's jackson? I'll have to look around the bay or contact him.

and

are his offerings for you.

He and Getat are very similar, use pretty much the same stuff, he does
much less customization usually and has a quicker turn around usually.

Thanks guys. I've had a 312, but I don't remember the crystal being that domed.

Here is the crystal on the 312...should look familiar:

Here are some pics on the net I found when I was looking for comparisons of the 312 crystal with the domed crystal.

I've always wanted to try out 47mm PAM as well, interested to see what you find...or if you decide to sell your manual 47mm!

very nice!

I do miss that watch. I probably should have kept it and put on a "mini fiddy" domed crystal. I dont see myself ever selling the 127, but if hell does freeze over... Ill let you know ;)

I believe that I found the auto Fiddy that was mentioned. It was only $110 EMS shipped, so I went for it. It comes with an auto 21j w/ sec@9(obviously). I compared to the very expensive Gen and it looks good enough to me. I'm sure there are flaws that would smack some of you in the face, but I'm not that in tune with my inner PAM... so it doesn't matter much to me. The only issue I see is he horrible color of the numbers. A relume is a must.

Here is a Gen shot. The numbers are much whiter and the lever closes the opposite direction. That's a huge tell, but given how rare this model is and how rare it would be to bump into someone that would even recognize Panerai, let alone this specific model... I'm not too worried.

Is it possible to swap the CG ?

I'll measure it with my 127 and see if they're the same size. Only time will tell how accurate the sizing is on this economy model. I hope I can be happy with this watch, I can have the auto I've been wanting and I can make money on the deal by selling the Fiddy.
