One of the benefits of a closed case back, like on the 15703, is you can (and IMO should) pick a movement for its gen-like performance and reliability. The 2824-2 is a 28,000 movement and the AP3120 is a low beat 21,600 movement.
For my taste and budget, the ideal is grabbing a 15703 with a busted A2824 to be replaced/upgraded with a genuine ETA 2622 movement. The ETA2622 has the same dimensions (26mm x 4.5mm) and stem height (1.8mm) as the A2824-2 and the same beat rate as the AP3120. The only (minor) challenge is the 2824-2 second hand pinion (0.25mm) is a bit larger than the 2622 (0.21mm).
