Is the GEN Strap worth it?

Hey Guys, I own a Big Bang 44mm and I recently tried on a gen hublot, and the strap is out of the world in comfort.

I was looking to buy one and they are around $600, so i was wondering if anyone with the Gen alegator strap could throw some insight into this.

My question is if they are worth the investment. Since i just got the watch a month a go, the rep strap is still very uncomfortable and my wrist being on the smaller side, its always either too tight or too loose.

I have already changed the clasp to the 1st generation clasp and it improved comfort significantly, but the strap still causes me to remove the watch or adjust it every few hours.
Which is why i was considering getting a gen because i heard the rubber is much more flexible and will mold to my wrist over time.

Any insight or suggestions into this would help me significantly, since it is quite an investment being priced more than watch itself

There are several strap makers on this forum who can make you a custom 'gator strap to your specs for a fraction of that money so IMHO no it is not worth it.

Thats is very true, i have been looking at some examples of it, but i like to have the rubber with that alligator design. its tough decision for me, i can give up rubber for significant price saving or the other way.

That's true and a viable option. Another one is to buy the OEM rubber strap, if you don't need the gummy gator gen strap, the rubber gen strap is around half the price from Hublot AD ($300)

More often than not, you can probably get a better quality strap than the gen

Seconded for custom strap - although it's comfortable, Hublot gen strap is not really worth the money compared to some you can get on the forums...

Old thread, but I thought I’d share. I finally pulled the trigger on a gen Hublot rubber strap, ordered directly from their website for $240—and it’s absolutely worth it on a V6 HBB.
The difference compared to the rep strap is clear, the rubber on the gen strap feels softer, more flexible, and overall higher quality. The “nibs” are slightly larger and spaced closer together. The color also stands out—it’s less of a deep black and has a more refined matte finish. Most importantly, it’s significantly more comfortable on the wrist.
No regrets whatsoever! Gen strap is on the left in the photos.
