Is the AR on my new 177L normal?

I just checked out the watch I got from TS last night. It looks great overall, but I remember it being advertised with having AR (http://www.timesshop.net/product.php?id_product=7531)

I attached a pic that shows its reflections on the crystal. I was expecting little to no reflections when taking such a pic. Is that normal with other 177Ls?

It has single AR (inside the crystal), so you're still going to have reflections. The big draw with these in the AR department is that they don't have the cobalt blue AR like a lot of reps. You can always have the outside of the crystal ARd (double AR) to diminish the reflections even more.

Anti-reflective coating is kind of like "fire-resistant clothing"... in such as the likelyhood is greatly diminished, but it's not completely gone.

I think you have very high expectations mate. Not even gen AR on $100,000 watch is so good that no reflections are seen. It just lowers them, doesn't get rid of them completely

yep this is right, it should have reflections as it is single coated, even superbly double coat AR has reflections, just look at normal coated glasses (spectacles) and you will know what i mean.

Thanks for the clarification. I thought it was double AR like Hublots. I just looked at some gen pics and the outside reflection is evident as well.

Now I noticed the damn crystal is unevenly pressed.....

It may just be the angle making tw crystal look unevenly pressed. As far as the AR, my Breitling is great but leaning against a white background reflects everything. If that pic was taken against a black table or something dark, you wouldn't really see much reflection. White reflects much more light.

Nice PAM buddy, welcome to the club!

I have a 111H and if you can afford it I would seriously recommend getting it double AR coated, I have heard other people say it and I agree too that it's the single best modification you can do to a replica watch. There are reputable AR experts here on this forum but please be aware that it's not cheap (in relation to how much you paid for the watch!)

As others have said it will not remove reflection completely but looking at my watch from certain angles it looks like there's no crystal on the watch, I love it! :D

I dont think its the lighting that makes the crystal look unevenly, I can see the left side of the watch being higher and I can run my nails along that side where the right is flush.

Take it to a watchsmith so he can re sit the crystal properly avoiding any leaks. It won't cost ya more than 10 bucks to do it

yeah tell me about it! I'm at 2/5 right now! Seriously need better QC! I guess I won't be going back to TS next time. Even though they have the LOWEST price around, their quality is not as good as it seems when compared to other dealers.
