Well, it was shipped to someone named Dan, and the sellers name is bobby.

The best way to be sure is to ask to meet up at the store where he said he bought it and have the store verify it. I cant tell a thing from those pictures.

Yeah I noticed that the name didn't match. Thanks for the input. You think if I called the store with the serial number that they could verify it that way? I'd probably just rather take it in though so they could open the case and look at the movement.

I've sold cars, motorcycles, boats, and even a house on Craigslist. They were all GEN. I'm texting the guy now to see if he's willing to meet a the jewelry store he claims it was purchased from.

Probably not, he could have fake papers with any serial on it. I'd say take him to a watchmaker or a Rolex Authorized Dealer to be certain. When I buy Gens online I always take them to AD's for videotaped unwrapping and verification. They may seem a bit hesitant to do it, but I've not had one tell me that they wont do it.

Yeah I think I'll do that. I sent the guy a text so we'll see what he says. I'm excited to be potentially sporting some new wrist candy, but don't want to get my hopes up yet. What does an AD normally charge you for doing that?

He texted me back and said he would be happy to meet at an AD, but he already has a buyer lined up. :cry2: It's been listed for 20 hours! How could it sell that fast or maybe that's his excuse to not meet at a rolex dealer. Damn, oh well, the hunt continues.

^^^maybe you should contact him again posing as another buyer and ask if still available. If he says yes then you know he's bullshitting. Price is good for a 2013 model though so perhaps he does have a buyer. PM me the link and I'll ask him myself if you like, undercover style!!

It's deleted now so it's either sold or he doesn't want to get busted

Lol. It's not sold. I've been watching the same Sub on eBay for 2 months.

Folks.......why oh why would anyone in his right mind meet up with the seller at the jewelry store of his choice. You don't go there ! No you don't. Never ! You go to your choice. Your mechanic. As in buying a nice used car !! Or to any Rolex Service center or an AD with multiple 'up to date' AD decals of Rolex on the front door !! ..Use your head for geezez sake !! If he backs out, he has something to hide. Yes he does !!

That's interesting. A few hours after appearing here the listing disappears from Craigslist yet still appears on eBay? Perhaps the seller is trolling this forum because I don't think craigslist has a reporting function to have items removed?

I meant I've been watching another watch (more popular Sub) on eBay (which has a world wide audience) and it has not sold in 2 months. So the likelihood of the OPs Seadweller selling on craigslist in the first day is unlikely.

Yeah I've seen some sea dwellers sell for less on eBay, so the fact that that one didn't last the day is pretty suspect, oh well. At least I still have 5g's in hand. after this though I think I'm going to call a shop or two in the area and see what they charge to authenticate one.

One thing you should never forget folks. Always use YOUR shop, YOUR jeweler, YOUR watchmaker !! Never ever the sellers recommendation. NO ! It could be rigged !! Happens all the time. Get an independent authentication !! Always !!
