Considering the price of the gen, I would definitely get the gen if I were you. As long as it's priced lower than $1K, I would rather get the gen than the reps.
Besides, I don't think if there is any rep of that particular Hamilton model, or if it is replicated already, the quality would still be in question. Just my 2 cents though.

You can get a gen Hamilton for close to the price of a rep. Go for a pre-owned Hamilton if you're concerned about the price. Affordable Swiss watches like Hamilton and Longines are repped but the replicas are just downright horrible.
