I was reading that zestyclose said he did a lot of research and the best rainbow Daytona was made by IPK but he said they closed a year ago. Did they reopen? The reason I ask is theonewatches is selling a rainbow made by IPK
I know @VenomGT3 has a rainbow that he just admires and I dm’d him to see where he got his and once he reports back I put the info here. Any other leads on who makes a drop dead non-custom factory produced rainbow? I know when it comes to custom work, I understand AMF and the Watch Mansion have an amazing custom Rainbow. Any leads greatly appreciated and someone let me know if IPK is still in operation.
THANKS
Gerald

What's your budget?
I already have a rainbow custom done by hillbillywatch and hes making me a twin. My budget for non custom is up to $2000 for something really nice. I believe @VenomGT3 said his factory rainbow is better than a lot of customs so waiting for him to respond to my DM. Anyone know where he got his?

$2K can get you a nice custom Rainbow, but the one without diamonds set into the case.

Hillbilly is a top tier modder but damn does he charge a fuck tonne for watches.

For the rainbow, out of the box build, in my opinon, IPK is still the best for price.

Like every "out of the box" Rainbow if you start inspecting stuff like gem setting and gem quality it's not the best however. My number 1 tell is to always look at the bezel - the color transition between green and blue on replicas are always bad. If you look at gen rainbow it's like a subtle blend, in the rep, it's always GREEN -> BLUE, no transition whatsoever.

Then the second weakness of the out of the box replicas is gem setting (if you have a gem set case).

Then the last one is always the "gold hammered" subdials - they're not quite there yet.

Here is my rainbow Daytona. It’s custom made but I bought it for almost 1/2 price from someone that had but did not wear it. Like it so much having another make me another that is going to be a twin to what I have but since it’s new and custom will cost appx $2600. Check the video:

here are the mods

Movement Details? DD4130
Build breakdown
BTF base $800
Lab gem bezel $500
Lab gem dial $500
6 corner moissanite $300
Wrap yellow gold $250
Pressure test $50
Regulate movement $0
Rebrush and refinish $150

Total:$2550

Did anyone order the ZF already? Looks nice or are there any issues with it which I dont see?
It's a fairly typical Rainbow Daytona. I mean at $650 you cannot expect super perfection. The color of the gem/jewels are off compared to gen, gem setting is also not the greatest compared to gen, etc

IPK lacks of a diamond, it is missing at the top of lugs, ZF setting on the case looks better, for the dial and bezel both look similar, I would go SW if you are keen on modding.

Yes the ZF seems to be a great "base" if you don't want to drop $1500 on just the aftermarket case and bezel alone lol

Here is a conversation I had with Marie at Puretime.

Hi. This is Gerald and just bought an RM52 and RM55 from you. Love them. Back for a rainbow Daytona 116595. I see you have 3 higher quality rainbow Daytonas:
IPK $1178
ZF. $678
N6F On sale $998
I’m totally concerned about which looks the best

Hello sir,

IPK will better working watch:)

Marie,
I’m not concerned which works better. I’m concerned with which looks better? Is the IPK better looking than the other two or do all 3 look the same in regards to the quality of the diamonds, sapphires and gold? That is what I need to know.
Thanks
Gerald

Hi, the IPK one is a better choice . it looks better, specially they make good diamonds looking watches.
The second choice is the ZF model. N6F is not suggested. thanks

SW are a well-known factory in China that produces aftermarket parts such as dials, bezels etc. I have a few pieces using SW parts such as an oysterflex SACO and a YG Tahitian MOP daytona with baguette diamond bezel. Their stuff tends to sit nicely (in terms of quality) above standard factory parts and high-end custom parts, and the prices are pretty reasonable.

That watch happened to be build by @Ac1013 to me, I sold him the watch out of the forum.
