Hi everyone,

just wonder if anyone has got in touch with davidsen recently? I sent him back my 217 to fix up something but he hasn't replied my email.

Any info is much appreciated.

How long has it been since you sent your email? It usually takes DSN a few days to respond. If it has been 3 or more days, I would send another email.

Yep still in business. His blog says he has a "day job" and tries to do this stuff with his extra time.

hi,

davidsen has not updated me any info of the watch which I sent to him 2 weeks ago and did not reply any of my email asking for status.

Anyone here would have any idea if anything happen to him? or could help me asking about the PAM 217 that i sent back to him?

Many thanks.

:?

I wrote this in a reply in DVN's buyers' review but edited out as I thought it wasn't appropriate since I have never bought from him. The only time I have heard of a good DVN review in quite some time is when he finally fixed a problem that shouldn't have happened to begin with. Yes, these watches are fake and I have always accepted receiving non-functional but repairable watches. But man, this cat has to spend a lot of time correcting mistakes.

There is a holiday season now in China. Kung Fu day or something. Many dealers are basking in the glow of pork dumplings.

I know, its a headache, unfortunately he does not work like a german watchsmith that fixes stuff within 3 days.
but he will take care of it, he always did. i was reading people were waiting for their GEN !! Panerai to fix 6 - 10 weeks !!!!!!!

rolex is generally 6 to 10 weeks depending on which model it is and what they are doing to it. i have read customers saying patek has taken up to 3 years to return their watch depending on the model.

That is a very good point. It took Breitling and Tourneao (spelling) 1 month to replace a messed-up gen strap. You are wise my friend.

It's ironic that a guy that specializes in replica watches has a better service track record than most the gen manufactures.
I've debated if I will buy a gen or stick with reps, for $300+ I get a great looking watch that does what I need it to do. Seriously, $6000+ for a watch or pay off debt? Buy a few ounces of gold or platinum, or stash some money away when the monetary system goes bust. The whole watch as an investment arguement has some credence, but I challenge anyone to prove that a watch is more a tangilble asset in a financial crisis than a rare metal.

I couldnae put it better myself, just got back from the bank where I opened a new saving account with the money (£1500) I was going to buy a gen Bell @ Ross Br01, came home and ordered a rep version from hont, don't know if its because Im scottish (copper wire was invented by two scotsmen fighting over a penny)
but the more I thought about it just couldn't justify spending £2000 on a watch :D

Well said!!!
With US stock market down over 400 pts. it's a ripple effect, felt by businesses and hiring managers, here and abroad; who knows what impact that will have upon our jobs. A gen Pam or Bell @ Ross is hard to eat or sell when others might be in your position.
I personally am getting ready to liquidate my 401k, move the money of the bank (can yo say bank-run?) and put it far away. When we see companies like Halliburton setting up headquarters in Dubia, something is amiss.
I'm happy with my DSN PAM 240 Ti, much easier on the financial conscience than the gen.
