Hi all,
I posted this over on another forum, but to no avail yet. The community at RWI seems larger, so I thought I'd try my luck here too .
Basically, I'm wondering if a homage to the PAM 364 is plausible... based on existing rep/homage parts:
I'm not a watchmaker, so I'm attempting to weigh up the feasibility of building -- or should I say, having built -- a 364 by comparing its specs to the PAM homage watches already out there.
If anyone out there has experience with custom builds, please chime in. Because of my limited understanding, I'm only able to make assumptions about "what can be done" with cases, movements, dials, etc. This is far from ideal.
For instance, I've seen 45mm Radiomir homages with automatic movements and a date function at 3. Currently, there's a few on the bay sporting a Cali dial.
Is it possible that the dials from other homage models are compatible with the 45/47mm Radiomir cases? i.e, dials that look more akin to the PAM 364's? I wonder. I see the cyclops featured on a few of the Luminor PAM reps and homages, but has anybody got a Radiomir/rep with one?
On Getat's website, one of the thumbnails for "45mm watches" is a picture of what is presumably a Radiomir homage with said cyclops. The model doesn't seem to exist in his inventory though. Again, this is all just conjecture, so I'm hoping that somebody out there with the "real knowledge" can kindly fill me in on the details.
The specs would be something like:
Movement: Auto with date function.
Case: Ti or Brushed steel, depending on availability.
Dial: Black sandwich with seconds at 9. Creme/white superlume.
Hands: Gold. Creme/white superlume.
Glass: Preferably sapphire. With cyclops.
Case-back: see-through.
Thanks for the help. Nice to find another great forum and community,
SP.
