Is a Swiss version worth it for the PAM 243?

I know, I know... There are tons of things on the noob v2 Pam 243. Still any current feedback if a Swiss version is worth the price difference to a serviced clone one? Personally I've not had a serviced Chinese version. The only ones I've had have been straight outta box and never had long term luck. Maybe a service one is much better but I'm torn. Any feedback would be appreciated as I am looking for a keeper. Thanks.

the 243 is 7750 powered, so be prepared to pay a bigger asian/swiss difference than on a 2824/2836 model.

doesnt answer your question, but it sure matters in the final math.

the asian 7750 is a pretty good mvt for the ost part, and personally, I would buy a asian 7750 243 any time over a swiss. THEN, if it dies, have it serviced, or have a non rep factory watch maker install a nice ETA 7750, that you know the origin of.
When the rep makers install swiss 750 mvts, you have no idea where the mvts come from, and you have no reason to believe it will last much longer than a asian one, knowing that it was installed in an illegal replica factory.

Yea, that's my issue, the Swiss version is like $500 more! But if a serviced Asian one could be long term reliable then that would be a winner. Otherwise I'd have to do the switcharoo of the movement as you suggest.

I believe Domi had an offer for a swiss swap.
I don't know if he can still offer the price, but back in the day it was around 300 eur for the swap, and he kept the asian mvt.

don't kill me if I remember that wrong BTW :)

I personally would much rather have the ETA 7750 installed by a guy like Domi.

+1 on all of this.

I have a Noob Asian 7750 PAM 104 and a Gen Swiss eta 7750 (Vac sourced/installed) PAM 199

Both run sweet as a top with great PR
No issues on either for over 18 months
Swiss rotor is quiet / Rep is noisier
Swiss winding is smoother - but they are autos?
Swiss date switches at 12, not over the hours as the Rep
Both keep accurate time (which is all you can ask?)

Unless you know you is gonna keep it for ages, probably not!

On the other hand, investing in a Swiss as part of a fully modded deal, like I did on the 199, has kind of stopped me flipping it as quick as some others :D:

Agreed, a Swiss movement will halt my flipping. Which is ok as I plan on holding on to it. I'm struggling with the cost, as mentioned above.
Mind you, it will be from vac in either case;).

Thanks all. I went with the $$swiss$$ version from vac. I've not had the greatest luck with Asian movements and this seems like a keeper, so I'm in.

Good choice...you won't regret it...;)
