Is a super rep PAM the best value mechanical watch you can buy?

I have been thinking this a lot recently.

At £150 pounds or so you can't really buy a nice mechanical watch.

Everything at this price point is quartz and not really that good quality either. Even quartz Armani watches are going for upto £400 gshocks are around the £100-150 mark (ok gshocks are pretty good but you can't wear them in every situation)

A super rep of a 111 or 005 are about £150 they feel great, run well, can be easily serviced, can take a host of different strap, are beautiful in their simplicity, and they literally look like they cost 20 times the price!

Good question - am interested to see what the majority think.

I'd be inclined to agree if you include the design as a factor.

Oh yeah design is a big factor for me. I think they the best looking watches in the world. However I find its very subjective.

I have a Kenneth Cole skeleton auto which from the looks of it is a Sea-Gull movement - $150 (100 GBP?), PR of several days, accuracy within 5-/10+ a day.

That said, design is what keeps me from buying ugly mass-market watches and go for reps instead

the skeleton movements in the Kenneth Coles can be purchased for around $30 USD....I don't know about their reliability...... I'd be willing to bet the rep movements in Pams will be substantially more reliable over time...but as far as the op's question it's very subjective because there are so many very reliable, inexpensive watches out there but comparing them to Pam reps is apples and oranges....
