Not 507 - should 508.

Where is the 507? I seriously doubt this has a functional PR like the gen.

anyone's got the QC image for either 616 or 389? still puzzled what the updated movement looks like... apparently they look different from the V2 P9000 in the V2 PAM498 in puretime.

Weird indeed.
I guess factories will end first P9000v1 stocks first, I would say it's not safe to order right now a P9000v2, at least on close caseback models.
Btw, trusty site shows, what he calls 389v3, with correct P9000v2 pics.

They might not show in the photos, but if you ask your TD, they should be able to confirm. I was thinking to get 616 before I got my gen dsotm and asked TS why photos didnt't correspond to description and in return got 2 photos showing the new movement in that model.

Thanx for sharing... that well answered my concern... There shouldn't be 2 versions of P9000 from the same manufacturer...

There shouldn't be but there is. Either the reps get updated as soon as there is an available update or you have to wait until the current stock runs out, which can take awhile. But to make sure you're getting the new movement, you can ask the TD for pictures of the movement on a closed caseback model. Of course, the TD would not intentionally give you the older version when you specifically state you want the VSF PAM616 V3 /PAM498 V2/PAM389 V2 with the P.9000 super clone with gen function.

Agreed. Now i'm more concerned about when the old, bi-layered carbotech cases and CG are running out (if there's this one day) that I can get a PAM616 w/ bezel/case/CG that are more aligned w/ gen.

Well if you're going to wait for that, then good luck. There is no telling when those will get used up and I've not read any recent developments in recycling carbon fiber composites.

While v2 is functionally correct.
It's a pain to adjust date the "gen" way.

This might one of those rare occurrences where V1 would remain as an preferred option even after v2 release.

It would depend on your preference, accuracy (V2) or convenience (V1).

Haha this is so true! I choose not to wear them if they're more than 5 days off the current date :)

It kind of makes you scratch your head when you first try out the gen function . What was Panerai thinking? Well I do understand the need for the independent hour hand adjustment (some call it GMT adjustment as when you move through time zones, the minute hand is still the same, it's only the hour that changes), however to remove the date adjustment function at the second stop of the crown, it's confusing although there's probably a good technical explanation for the disappearance of that function out there along with the addition of the other function.

If you have several watches and do not have a winder, yes, it may be a pain in the ass when you come back to this P9000 watch once every week or so. However, I find this function quite convenient if you often get to travel between countries in different timezone.

My Omega PO 8500 has the same independant hour/date set function. Probably, it is just a sign of the times, as celestial indicated. However, I don‘t nearly travel as much between timezones as I have to set the damn date. I do have a watch winder but I prefer not to have the same watches in it all the time. I don‘t buy watches with a weekday indicator for the same reason.
