I wanted a 177L, but was very slow to pull the trigger before CNY so they sold out. I was talking with Jee at Silix a few days ago, he called up his supplier and thinks he found some. Take a look at these QC pictures and let me know if this is the same 177L that was recently released.

Thanks!

Please note, I am an absolute newbie when it comes to Panerai, this would be my first.

Thanks, I figured that since it was sold out, but I figured I would give Jee a chance to try and track one down.

Jee is a good guy.

Problem is he isnt in GZ. He has to go through a supplier and the supplier from what I hear doesnt know Jack about the models. "they all look same to him"

This is a H, the craze (that I missed, too), was about the 177L IIRC, definitely not h.

OP on movement is stickered badly. I think that the crown is too coarse but I am not expert there.

How much does he want?

Good point, Jee is a great guy. He thought it wasn't going to be the right one and was already willing to give a refund if it wasn't the right one.

I guess I will wait for the phantom 177M that is suppose to come out before too long.

Maybe I should just go for a 005k, the main difference is the 177L is brushed titanium, open back, and no logo on the dial correct?

Of course dial and back are different but the main difference is the Titanium. That makes the Pam a whole different watch, it is much lighter and makes it surprisingly nice to wear for its size. I have a highly modded 177h and this is among my faves.

The "new" 177 seems to be still quite some time away according to the TD's I've asked.

This morning Lay said the new 177M should be available at the end of Feb./Beginning of March.

In terms of the Titanium v. Steel... I am torn.

And the 177 has a sandwich dial, The 005 has the sausage dial.

I own a 177, the one in your photo's is nor accurate, the crown guard is the big give away because it is not flattened.

Guys, why would they go through the trouble of getting a gen 177 and copy it and it be so close and then go on and buy another gen M and try to make it better? They wont. Its all about the L.

The "M" is just as much speculated as the 036 or whatever it was. One person says it and the whole forum runs on it. It would be stupid for the factories to produce more than one model bc it would leave them with more overhead than they want once people realize what is better.

Just my .02

It didn't make sense to me, I was just relaying what Lay told me this morning. Since I don't expect the L to come back in stock soon, I went ahead and grabbed an 005k instead. If the 177L comes back in stock and I change my mind I will just sell my 005k to a forum member.

BTW, I should have been able to realize this was the "h" series since the serial number has an "H" lol!
