I just received my DSN 112 the other day. I'm absolutly IN LOVE with this thing and have already purchased 3 great straps to go with her.

Everything is perfect about the watch except for one MINOR flaw. But minor flaws to a perfectionist become MAJOR pain's in the arse! I'm referring to the CG lever pin hole. There is a slight dent in the case of the CG at the hole thus not allowing the modded pin (sanded flat at the top) to sit and appear flush.

Those were the before shots. And after all of the wonderful advice from the mates around the forum here, i've got some partial shots. The mod is only at the beginning, but I wanted to show the progress as of yet.

I wen't with the 150 grit sand paper. It's working great so far. Only about 30 minutes into it.
here we go.

Thanks again to all of you for your suggestions. This was my first 'high-dollar' modded rep purchase, and my first true MOD. When it gets finished tomorrow, i'll repost the final product shots. I'm also going to do the same MOD to my Ultimate Arktos.

stop whining !

the CG you want is not available ...the way you want it !

take the CG off the case ( 2 screws ) get fine sanding paper ( that you lay on a glass surface....or on a even surface ) then slide the whole CG until it looks like this....just have 1 hour time....and a little patience.

would this outcome be what you are looking for ? - also...you will be proud of your first own REAL mod !

let me know if this is what you want it to look like !!

"Stop Whining" .. lol.. (HU Sarcasm at his best)

Your CG does look good!! this should be a pretty easy fix as HU suggest. You should give it a try! I think I'm motivated to try my own...

fixing this CG problem...is really as easy as 123.....i promise......all you ned ....a screwdriver, sandpaper. i push the lever pin out that he is barely over the surface edge of the CG.
it will flatten perfectly while you sand the CG.....nobody needs to be scared to do that, its very easy...just sand until the CG looks like you want it.
screw it back on....take some pics and show us.

DONE !!

Hey jkirke

i spend hours sanding the correct radius to make it fit with no gap ! after doing what i told you...your CG will look PERFECT !!

do exactly like hu said and just make sure you are sanding in the direction of the brush marks. there is nothing to it!

thanks for the advice H. Used 150 grit sandpaper. Worked like a charm. It was a little difficult because tv top of the CG was slightly rounded. In the process of dulling the sand marks down. Thanks all for the help.

150 grit sand paper will be OK to start off.
You'll have to use 600 or even 800 to finish it off in so called 'satin' finish CGs on some Vendome Panerai watches come with.
I use 800 grit to finish and a single once-over with Cape Cod cloth over it...but I'm anal about these things and you don't have to be.

Also, on gen S/S watches like 111H/112H/113H the lever pin should be polished, not brushed. On 176 and 177 it comes brushed. Once you've flattened the pin with the CG surface by brushing it as H_U explained in his post, remove the pin and polish its head on a thin piece of cotton cloth soaked in Brasso or something similar. Cape Cod should suffice although little thicker and harder to work with when polishing such a small and delicate piece like CG pin.

Good luck!

I picked up some 800 tonight, and i'm planning on doing the finishing touches with it tomorrow. I also ordered a cape cod polishing cloth yesterday from ebay and i'm planning on polishing up the pin as soon as it gets here.

thanks for all the input. it's been hella helpful.
