Impressive BB58

I've got this in gen and was doing the comparisons to the latest BB58 I picked up from a very helpful M2M sale recently with jubilee bracelet. Other than the obvious tell of the "exposed" crown, which even on wrist you don't notice, these reps are simply brilliant for the price point.

Any other tells that I'm missing? I was really impressed

Did you swap the bezel or is that a BB not a BB58?

I have a gen blue bb58 and rep black. The chamfering on the rep could improve but it’s a nice piece for $300.

I can only say that after a nice cleaning my zf bb54 has the best bezel action i have ever experienced. Rep or gen.
Crisp clicks, zero backplay.

What cleaning process did you go through if you don't mind me asking? I've got another on the way

oh im honestly the wrong person to give advice. im very new to taking watches apart etc., but first i did the good old dental floss (removing some grease) in combination with elongated and furious turning of the bezel. That kind of did the trick.
After that the case got under the drillpress for a big crown mod, so i had to take everything apart and thats when i removed all the grease with qtips and alcohol. And the bezel still feels great without any grease, but i will probably add some kind of lubricant for the final assembly.

What drove you into buying a second 54? or do you mean zf blackbay in general?

Thanks for the input, a little out of experience already so you're way ahead of me but it's interesting to know how it all works. Always looking to teach myself new tips and tricks.

The second 54 was bought as I should have never gotten rid of my first one. Such a good rep for the price point and looks great on wrist

This looks like the black bay heritage 41

This is rep of the new Black Bay 41 Burgundy Master Chronometer which is METAS Certified. The ref. numb. is M7941A1A0RU-0003.

I heard it wears slightly smaller than heritage/the old one since the case is smaller. I hope they come out with black color, too and with all the strap options.

Hope someone would make a side-by-side comparison soon

What work are you having done? Complete strip down and regrease?

Nope, the basic plan was brevet crown and mercedes hands. Wich sounded simple enough at the time... it wasnt.
Even realigned a marker in the dial. So ist was quite the hasse but now the only thing that should be left to do is relume hands and reassemble the watch.
