Hi, if I order a Rolex submariner watch into the uk what is the position with customs, two possibilities concer me, either it would be seized as a fake or they would consider it real and give me a large import tax bill.

Yep… that’s the risk! If you order from a good supplier (ie TD on this site) they will send it via triangulated shipping so has a better chance of passing customs. Do not purchase more than two watches at once. Some TD’s offer a replacement if your watch is seized. I don’t think any customs official would consider it real?? When you think of how many packages are sent to the UK every day and customs are more concerned with drugs and arms one watch is more than highly likely to pass through. While I can't give any advice for the scenario where they believe it to be real, TOW offers protections on if it gets seized, as quoted Link Removed

If the watch is seized by customs as a fake, we will resend you a new watch or you can ask for a refund. If the watch is seized by customs as genuine, we will cover the customs duty to help you get the watch if we can afford to do so, if the duty is too high then we will either give up and arrange for a new watch or a refund.
