Huh.. a Mod asking a "who's got the best sub"-type question...

Shouldn't this be in the 'humor' section?  j/k man j/k

Now, depends on what your looking for obviously.

My answer is: TTime / Perfect Clones / Angus : Pam 087

http://www.ttwristwatch.com/index.php?m ... cts_id=801

Reasons
1. Davidsen does not sell auto pams anymore

2. Andrew and Joshua carries ALL auto Pam types... kid ya not, from the crappiest to the best.

3. Angus has one with an accurate magnification and datefont, but the crown guard is a mess;
IMHO Most of the time when people look at your PAM, they look at the CG first :D

4. The 087 rep is very close to the gen, albeit the magnification/ datefont problem

5. The watch is very substantial albeit its 44mm size and wears a tad bigger, which I like :D

That is an awsome watch. Ironically that is the exact watch i have lusting after :) I love that watch for sure.

What about the Asian Valjoux 7750 with 28,800bph? I have heard good and bad things.

the one in my navi is fine. they all have a noisey rotor in my opinion but it is normal.

I think the new Arktos is the best/closest auto PAM rep out there.

Does this model include the cyclops fix we were waiting on? How are the fonts? Date font? BTW, I already have davidsens GMT. I am not sure i want another one.

I want that RWI :) :)
SO I have search and comparing between dealers.. andrew and josh do carry all line -- agree with watchlover...
you resting in Texas.. does custom should be an issue? comparing all the dealers we have .. i would say any US base dealers will be recomended for you if custom is a paint in the ass in your area. As for panerai automatics since you like the pam87 with claimed from B9A stock photos from factory ... and review from member has been great with this dealers, I will say B9A. So far all the product from B9A has been as promoted and delivery is fast, NO CUSTOM issue. and quality of the pam it should be the same as TT,Josh,PT -- giving benefits of the doubt that is stock factory picture between them come conclusion __ SAME Factory. if there is problems with the watch returning it to him is much cheaper, again no custom issue, I will even insured it for price i paid for just incase its lost. I have been returning most of my watch i bought so far. eventhough dealer will replace and returning it at their cost, I still have to pay to send it back to them. and it make the cost of the rep higher than advertise or agree upon. B9A will definately a problems for our asian base dealers, I just feel more safe knowing that my rep will come safely.
As for A7750 28800, its always hit and miss and you can have Kevin B9A check/tested it first before he shipped it to you :)
ok.. that's it..... Hope this help Dawd. Just a bit of my opinion... now can i have a bit share of RWI for effort

Bestest Regards,
Dan

Look at the comparo pics in the thread I posted. The fonts/cyclops look pretty friggin' good to me.

This is the 092 (non-GMT) not the 186 GMT.

Click the link already!!!!!! Lazy! :p

I agree with peep, but that Crown Guard is a big turn-off for me.. :)

You could always swap the CG out. I dunno if Davidsen's would fit, but one of his new, thick brushed CGs would look GOOOOOOOD on that watch!

So far I have never had any problems with customs. I have bought many watches from Trusty, Josh, davidsen etc.. I have also bought a watch from B9. I may get flamed here and i am going out on a limb but I am not sure I will order from B9 again for one reason. The watch I ordered form him was great dont get me wrong but it was poorly packaged. The watch was wraped in bubble wrap but not sealed on the ends so the watch came out of the bubble wrap and was flopping aroung the envelope. It was sent in a paper mail bag. That kind of left a bad taste in my mouth. I want to recieve my watches well packaged.

oooo.. hopefully you let him know about the poor shipment... He has to increase the shipment quality, I think it can be fix for future shipment. He is new in here so we have to help by critics and comment. As long as the quality is the same, I will feel safer ordering it from B9A -- and put a note please pack extremly carefull :) :) .

Peepshow, watchlover, hk45ca -- you guys don't need RWI cash.. :) let the poor guy work to get Dawg's cash

Dawg. what else do yo need Sir.... ?? :) :)

Dan

ok... I have search and search again.. :( Couldn't be more help to you Dawg... other than packaging issue with Kevin, i could not suggest better price, worry free, quality of products other than B9A. I am not in anyway promoting B9A :) I have not buying anything from him yet. just based on other members review (I wish they do complain/comment on his packaging quallity -- I will be dissapointed if founding my watch poorly wrap like in your case). I have been PM him, asking about a rep here and there and so far his customer responses are great. I will def give him a try again and ask for special check on the packaging issue.

I thank you again for your kindness, really appreciated.

Best Regards,

Daniel Tan

I would stress one thing: Go with a tried and tested dealer. Brand 9 has shown no evidence of really knowing his stuff yet. It'll come with time, but don't risk this kind of purchase on it.

Oh, and Asian 7750 without the chrono is as reliable as any other Asian movement. No, this doesn't answer your question and isn't worthy of any RWI$.

Can't blame a man who is in search of bright light :) The best Rep, perfect clone, out of the box perfect would be my dream most night. Until now, I have bought 5 reps (starting from mid January) 4 of them has been return to dealer (not all come back yet) the min cost $240.00 with shipping _ with all the headache emailing dealer and then return cost and another stress waiting for the replacement. I would prefer dealing with any local dealer. You are lucky Dawg, never have any issue with reps .... I almost giving up on buying reps. But since member always posting such a great picture of reps.. i kept buying them. :) :)

Hk45ca if you meant me on your comment, I Thank you for kind words :) ( I do R&D)

So the best rep is:

a. Most dealers will see similar items (not to many factory selling great reps) and if they can be our dealer in this forum, their quality must been good - handpicked etc except certain dealers do custom jobs.
b. The quality of the goods should be great at first eventhough its a replica : there is no need to nonworking, misalign bezel, lettering etc) Dealers can check it first and double check again make sure the goods are GOOD ( I will if i am a dealer ) So we dont need to pay extra for cost of returning un inspected goods ( i know i am still dreaming ) :)
c. Less stress/headache/miscomunications with dealers and goods. I have notice that people attent to respond to email alot faster when prepost deal. when deals has issue, it will take longer than normal to get response. ( at least in my cases)
d. When there is problem occurs (I never agree "problems do happen, we are buying a rep") is not an excuse. but they seems to happen alot more than i expected so returning items do local dealers will be an added bonus.

Ok so i am just blabbering. So my conclusion is go with your local rep dealers ask for inspection/extra test on the movement before shipping, extra packaging etc etc.
Even though I am buying a Gen or A rep, less headache is what make it a better sub type questions :) :)

Regards,
Dan

DAN,

$1200, you were so close to a gen. But you are like me and would rather have 5 timepieces that all look a bit different than have the same one for everyday.

Good Job,

Natron
