Everytime I see the video I realize some people are cooler than us, no seriously they're HARDCORE, they don't just hate reps they spend money buying them and then breaking them! So smart and cool! I mean they're total bad asses! They even have beards!

What seems to be the most irksome to me, is not the fact that they have a rep, or that one dude is wearing a Breitling (possible Rep), or even that they have an impact hammer that uses 22 ammo and didn't injure someone...its that they have this condescending attitude that their Gen is better than a Rep, yet they probably don't know why. They have one Gen, and probably can't afford to get it serviced every two years. Either that, or Daddy bought it for them, so they can condescend to the masses...

I don't disagree, and I have a gen TT Sub that my wife gave me for my 30th birthday. The difference, in my humble opinion, is that the Gens are better in qualities that may not matter to me. I don't need a watch that is pressure tested to 1000 feet, because I will never be diving at 1000 feet. Swimming and shower are about it for me at this age. Gens are more consistently manufactured, with quality materials, to tolerances and quality controls, that produce a smooth running machine every time. That being said, every now and then, a good rep comes along that can fulfill the realistic needs, and is made well enough that it runs well, or failing items can be replaced easily enough. A fear many have with Gens, is smashing it on a desk dive, having the movement crap out, or getting it stolen by a mugger. With a decent rep and a 21J movement, you just replace the movement, or get a new rep, with very little stress...
