I want to purchase a Brietling rep.

I have been scouring the forums for awile now looking at all different watches but I think I would like to purchase a breiting. I want to get some type of navitimer but I am not sure which one. I am lost as far as where to order it from. There are tons of dealers out there and I don't know who has the best breitlings.

I would really prefer to spend about 100-150 but I think brietlings are a little more expensive than the rolex reps that I was looking at before. I was looking at one navi for $100 from a dealer on another forum and it said it has a quartz movement, instead of the usual asian movements found in most reps. Are quartz movements ok or are they garbage? Are they smooth sweeping like a rolex or is it the "tick" type?

Thanks for helping out a noob.

Quartz is a battery. Its subdial ticks but since it is so small some say people wont recognize it on your wrist. For 100-150 you will not get the 7750 movement but either a 21j (automatic) or quartz. If you go with quartz I would look at silixs website. If you want a breitling I would look at the sosf (steelfish). It is around that price range and is automatic and one of the best out of the bo reps.

Is the sweep the same with the the 21J/quartz? I want the sweep to be smooth like the gens are. Is there any difference between the sweep of the quartz/21j/eta movements?

I understand that they are different types of movements but is there any noticable difference in the sweep? Do quartz or 2ij movements do the one tick per second thing or are they smooth?

They are totally different in every way.

When you look at a navitimer or any other watch with a chrono you will see the long hand which normally looks like the second hand on most watches. ON a GEN it will reset at 12 using one of the pushers on the side. Then you have the subdials. One of the subdials will have 60 sticks and in a gen it will rotate once every minute.

On a 21j the subdials are faux and they will be used for days or something. and the chrono hand will move (sweep) as if the chrono is always running.

On the quartz the subdial will work but it will tick. The subdial is so small that one would have to look close to realize the subdial is actually ticking. However if you started the chrono it would tick and not sweep like a gen.

Save your money and get the swiss SOSF or the chinese 7750 avenger skyland. Both of those are awesome and very accurate.

7750 Skyland without a doubt. I have a friend with one and he swears by it. It looks really good too.

ok, here is gurus answer on it.
looks like you are new here, so the best way to go is the BCE, this is one of the best made reps. Check the breitling section in here and you find out, that the skyland has problems with the movement right now, looks like a bad run of the A7750.

Forget the Quartz and cheap chinese movements, if you want some qual get the BCE.

Just look hee inthe Breitling section and you know what I mean.
